I'm still not voting for Obama, but McCain sure is eating crow at every turn lately.

In the vein of McCain eating crow, Friedman's latest column does a nice job of exposing McCain for being a phony when it comes to energy policy, and his ads being shown recently.

http://www.twincities.com/opinion/ci_10205733

In eight votes so far in the past year regarding monies for alternative energy sources, McCain has not voted in a single one, but he has no problem with ads showing him as a friend of wind power which he failed to bother taking the time to cast a vote in support of even when he was in his office during one of the votes. But, he is willing to take the time to go to Sturgis and tell the motorcycle enthusiasts that we need to be drilling offshore and that they should be telling their congressional reps to get back to Washington and vote on that.

I grow more and more embarrassed at having been a staunch supporter of this man at one time.

Well before you condem McCain for voting the way he did 8 times I think it might behoove ya to look at the entire bill(s).

McCain has been a rather staunch opponent of riders on bills and has gone on record on this matter. Maybe he voted no on the energy bills because they were so laden with pork that it would defeat the purpose?

Wth Jedd, are you dipping into my scotch tonight? I've been finding you more and more able to debate intelligently and now you're off on a really weird tangent.

HE DID NOT VOTE AT ALL!!!!!

Even when he was in the building during the vote, he did not appear in the chamber to cast a vote.

Wasn't that his maverick way of voting no without voting no due to pork?

Yeah, he's such a maverick (http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/1992-10-21/news/call-my-travel-agent-there-s-an-election-coming-up/).

They met in 1981 when McCain moved to Arizona. Keating was a World War II pilot. McCain made nine vacation trips to Keating's home in the Bahamas from 1984 to 1986. The trips were made free of charge on jets provided by Keating.

Because the ethical violation was so obvious, McCain was eventually forced to pay $13,433 for the flights to Keating's company, American Continental Corporation.

He escaped ethical censure because the trips were made while he was a member of the House of Representatives and the trips didn't come to light until he was a member of the Senate, which conveniently declared it had no jurisdiction.

The House couldn't act, either, for the same reason.
Keating contributed $112,000 to McCain's 1982 and 1984 House campaigns and his 1986 Senate run. McCain's father-in-law and his wife also took advantage of the chance to make a lucrative shopping-center investment with Keating.

Ethics and "straight-talk" all the way!

I'm not reaching, I'm merely stating how he's portrayed himself during the Bush years.

I'm not voting for the guy for a host of reasons ;P
