So long story short, we have a shitacular satellite connection here, and we're trying to lessen the load on it by setting up a simple cache server. I have in my hot little hands a box with openSUSE 10.2 and I'm trying to find some software (preferably the free or relatively cheap kind) to turn it into said server. Doesn't have to be fancy just functional. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'd figure the collection of fellow geeks here might have an idea.

this took a little time (bout half an hour) but it works wonders, i use squid (on a cobalt raq applience)

make sure you got webmin or install it if you dont, makes things a peice of cake.

some of those packages are outdated, i installed the latest webmin, and latest squid, because 2.6 squid wont work with older webmin (the one provieded on that page)

should work just fine on any distro, this isnt just for cobalt appliences.
