STRIKE!
SHOP at Stater brothers or walmart/costco or whatever unless you want to deal with picketing dumbshit uneducated 40 year old idiots who want to keep 18 an hour pay and shitloads of benefits for cashiering~
And yes I work at a grocery store, and I disagree with the union! BUT OMG Cronuus how could you?
I'll tell you,
The union is a bunch of greedy ass hypocrites that are looking out for themselves under the false guise of caring about workers. While the stores are a business out for profits,
If the stores drop the union, they(the unions) lose tons of money, Boo fucking Hoo, most of their requests are fucking stupid, and some(read: few) are good.
The stores shouldn't be forced to provide for idiots who are too stupid to get a real job, let the younger people work at grocery chains; older people... get a fucking education.
Hell no I'm not going to picket for pay, I'm not a sellout.
The ones who will strike are just sheep, and tools for the worker's union.
to sum it up quickly:
A: The stores want to drop the union completely, so the union, wanting lots of money, is made up of a bunch of greedy bullshitter hypocrites, want to use the workers to get their way
B: Cashiers/clerks don't like thinking, so they want to keep a high benefit, $18 an hour job and not need to ever get any sort of education
Let the flames begin...

I left the union in California because they are not involved or helpful to the employees.

in some places unions protect the people from shit companys.
in other playes unions create shit companys.
i have seen the worst of both, but over all i dont like unions.

Nod, as I said, the union feeds us bullshit and half truths to sway the masses into fighting for them, just a bunch of mindless tools.

Unions aren't needed in most industries anymore with OSHA and tough labor laws. Prior to these labor regulations, unions were a powerful tool to improve workers' rights. Now it seems many unions have degraded into corrupt schemes for representatives to get rich without labor. >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >: >: :evil >:

Nah baltyn, I hate it, but its a job and i'll keep doing it until I've saved up enough for stuff like a car and shit so I can go do other shit...
Also,
You have to join the union to work at grocery stores, or else they fire you, you can't say, "oh, i'll not join the union and accept the loss of benefits and such", you either join, or they take your job, after 4 weeks of working I was sent a notice saying I owed them $140 + 112 initiation and other BS fees, this is for a part time, minimum wage job, where I made around 100-150 a week, they also gave me 12 days to pay it or I would get a termination notice... whee?
and now, I got a friend to work during the strike, and people at work are uber pissed and hating me because I got someone to replace them, bwahaha its so funny >: D

I RECCOMEND FINDING YOUR LOCAL UNION REP AND BRAKING HIS LEGS. BREAK INTO HIS HOUSE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT AND CRUNCH HIS LEGS INTO LITTLE PIECES WITH A BASEBALL BAT. THIS WILL TEACH THOSE MOTHERFUCKERS. 8o 8o 8o

Teamsters raised my pay, and I have full benefits including free prescription drugs. No complaints here.

To clear something up, I don't dissagree with everthing the union does, and I don't agree with everything the stores do, and When i say "get a fucking education and a real job blah blah blah" I mean the would be cashiers and such, not the old ones who already got sucked into it.
Thats it for my rant~

This is my first post here and a slight rant at that.
Unions are evil and big business is evil. On that note I favor the latter as opposed to the former. See the following example:
A person works 30+ years at a steelmill (in the UNION, because they have no choice) and rarely takes a sick day. I believe he only took 5 actual sick days in all those years. Then the mill goes belly-up. No problem, he paid his UNION dues and they'll take care of him, right? Wrong answer. They have since cut out health benefits and taken away a portion of their pension. (The person in this example is my dad)
Why pay money for something that isn't going to help you and end up screwing you in the end. At least corporations just suck your life, but don't require you to pay for it too with dues.
I'm in agreement with those that say the UNIONS are padding their wallets while the little guy gets squished. It's a lose-lose situation sorta, damned if you do and damned if you don't.
There are many other examples I could give, but I just wanted to throw my own two nickles at this topic.
