The Canadian government has been dissolved on the issue of contempt and corruption. This is the first time a government has been brought down on these issues since parliment was first invented sometime in the 1200's.

Interesting times up here in the north. Hopefully things turn out better on the 2nd of May when we hit the polls. Wish us luck!

Yes I've been watching poor Harper and the rather dramatic exploits of Parliament lately; I'm not sure what's going to happen though if Ignatieff refuses to form a coalition.

WTH, Obama does nothing while Canada spins into lawlessness! clearly this is a case for military intervention before unknown extremism takes hold and creates a hostile state on our very border.
Already the Bacon market is skyrocketing and our pizza industry is on the verge of collapse!! something must be done!

Hopefully they get this shit straightened out before we start getting flooded with refugees from Quebec. If there is one thing worse than Canadians, it's French Canadians :p

Clearly we need to bring democracy to Canada so we can ensure access to their strategic health care reserves.

LOL, funny thing is the PM is currently going around telling people that the Canadian public don't care about contempt of parliment. I mean, you have a minister who doctored a document, lied about it in the house and then admitted it after the fact. Another minister abused parlimentary priviledge.....twice! Two MP's and two Senators being investigated for Election Fraud and the cheery on top? The former top aide to the Prime Minister himself is now in a lobbying scandal which includes his 23 year old girlfriend (he's 63)....oh yeah, forgot to mention she is/was a high priced escort. All in his party and all under his watch.

I'm surprised the man is allowed to walk free, let alone run in an election.

I think Robin Williams said it best " Canada is like a loft apartment above a really cool party"

Who is Canada?

Well, it seems that Canada is now taking a page out of the USA's book and have gone to a two party approach. On one side, you have the Conservative party with a majority (VERY right wing) and you have the New Democratic Party as the official opposition (VERY left wing). Going to be an interesting four years....

Yes I would like an order of Oil Sands with a side of NAFTA please. Oh? All out of that? Well what can I get in it's place? Humble Pie? Woot. That's my favorite! =(

Nothing interesting? Our banks didn't fold or need a bail out, in fact they made gobs of money thanks to regulation. Our dollar has been holding steady at above parity to the USD for months now. And the Muskrat Falls development coming through my province will be providing much needed electricity to your eastern sea board....for a price. That's just a sliver....nope, nothing interesting going on here. :)

Don't worry, he's just upset you guys have jobs and health care :>

It does sort of boggle the mind that Harper got re-elected. Hopefully that doesn't turn into a Bush2004 moment for CA.

lol @ healthcare. Our healthcare system is crap. It's free what do you expect. I have insurance wtb 2 tier health care

When you pay $80000 to have a gall bladder removed, then scoff at our healthcare system. That being said, I like how the French have their two tiered system working. The key is having the doctors make the same salary in their fields, regardless if they work in public or private medicine as well as to share resources between all hospitals. Those with insurance go to private, those without go public, but the standard of healthcare is the same.

WOW, that is a solution that seems deeply rooted in common sense. thats why it will never fly here in the US.
