Hey Just wanted to see if any car people out there know anything about how dependable 2001 Pontiac Bonneville SE's are. I dont spend alot of times on cars so I just need a car that is depenable.. I am thinking of the Bonneville because even though its a full size car it still is a little sporty and everyone likes that even a little bit :) Any info would be awesome sorry not much of a car person.

Had a '99 Bonny SSEI that I really liked, except for the gas mileage. Never had a single problem with it.

I will be doing a 3 year loan on it because thats how long I'llbe in school and I can usualy last on a 25 dollar tank of gas about 4 weeks at the moment so gas shouldnt be a huge problem :)

SSEI was the turbo-charged full package, so will be better gas mileage with the SE. Bonneville is the top of the Pontiac line. You should be happy with it.

Which engine? THe GM 3.1, 3.4, and NON SC 3.8's have composite intake manifolds and faulty intake gaskets. MANY MANY engines of this era(until 04 when revised) loose radiator fluid through the cylinder heads. Get a complete car-fax on this thing. You may also want to do a Used Oil Analysis just to see if there is any ant-freeze showing up in the oil...

I've done a carfax only two owners however it was owned by a rental agency which means that one it was prob kept up to date on its regular checkups, like I said the car is in great shape and the interior looks great.. Carfax came back with no accidents even so I am just gonna assume it's a good buy. here's teh car

Good to see the 90 day warranty. That will give you a chance to put it through some paces and see that it is running tight.
Also, should be a discount on insurance with the air bags and anti lock brakes.
Enjoy your wheels. :)

These days I wanna say that miles dont matter as much as they use to. besides as much as I drive I wont hit 150 or get close within 4 years prob.

The only bad thing about rentals is folks treat them like rentals...and beat them to hell.
Sounds like a good car tho. Wouldnt hurt to get it checked up first though.
