Ok... I have a K&N Typhoon SR air intake kit on my car... was on it when I bought it. Now, I know with traditional air filters you have to replace them every so many miles. A standard K&N air filter is "washable". What kind of maintenance do I need to do on the filtercharger?

Just pull and wash the filter every couple of oil changes. Overly detailed instructions here:

I'm a little lazy because my airbox is a PITA:

It's just a K&N filter. Go to an auto parts store that sells them. They'll have the oil for cleaning K&N filters. The oil will have directions for doing it.

What they said. Just make SURE you use the oil and follow the directions. Those filters are much too porous to do their job unless they're coated with the oil.

MY GOD! Snacheck! You actually do know something. He is right. K&N's to tend to allow higher amounts silicon(dirt) into a motor thus causeing higher levels of wear on bearing and rings... Also the supposed HP gain is minimal at best. Best really to stay with a OEM good quality paper filter... BUt when you say you have a K&N it adds =50 HP just like having a big wing and a Type R sticker. They are good for at least 175 HP..

Its a fun car. Its not a racing car, only has ~200 HP and is pretty heavy for its size (lot of glass, especially with the sun roof), but its very zippy and the handling is incredible. Taking winding roads fast is exhilerating. Feels like its on rails.

Don't get me wrong, I love my car but it's pretty simple. Jetta 1.8T.

Oh ya I liked that Cooper especially the type S. Thing is I am 6' 3" and I felt a little crammed in it. 1.8T can be beefed up pretty nice, can't go wrong with that either.

I went with a 2003 Honda s2000, not too much bigger than the cooper but it freaking rips, especially since I put a different ECU in it and can put the tack at 9k.

I've heard several tall guys talking about not liking the feel inside the cooper. I'm 6'1" and was impressed at how spacious it still felt. Ofcourse, no one can sit behind me, but its mostly a commuting car anyway.

I suppose it depends on if your height is in your legs or your torso.

Heh... sorry to say, I'm not a racer. I have neither the time nor the money to put into making a racing machine. Too much I have to save for (only 23). Besides that... my mini is a heavy mofo... ~3500Lbs. Too much glass.

Maybe someday if I have some extra cash at my disposal though :D
