In all the uproar over the Hamas/Israeli conflict, *this* little gem from Afghanistan was posted earlier in the week on the BBC:
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/americas/7800549.stm
For the click-averse, the CIA, in their bid to try to make deals with the various Afghan warlords, have employed a new tool in their carrot/stick arsenal: Viagra. It's largely unknown in Afghanistan, and apparently quite effective on aging, influential warlords with the allotted 4 much younger wives (periodically changed out to maintain freshness ;) ).
Best quote from the article:
The pills were explained and offered. Four days later the agents returned.
"He came up to us beaming," the Post quoted an agent as saying. "He said, 'You are a great man.'
"And after that we could do whatever we wanted in his area."
Apparently it really is true - the way to a man's heart is through... something other than his stomach ;). Hopefully they can keep the lid on their little miracle, else those warlords are going to be pretty miffed when they find out they could get same on the black market in almost any country *other* than Afghanistan...
