If you are going to run SLI you'll want 650 watt power supply at the least. Look for one that is built for SLI so you get a steady and stable supply.
I'd also go with 1066 ram and 4 gb at the very least.
Cooling will be an issue with the quad core and the SLI, more fans are better. I like the Antec series for cases , my son's has a huge 200mm exaust fan and 4 120mm cooling fans (2 back and 2 front I think it was)
Other than that I think that machine will scream. oooo I'd look at going with a better sound set up if you are gaming with this machine.

Depends what type of OS you are using. If you use Vista(XP) 32, anymore than 3.25 GB is a waste. If you use Vista(XP) 64, the sky is the limit and 4 minimum would be a good starting point.

I had assumed he was going 64 bit.
Fun fact, if you purchase Vista ultimate it comes with a DVD for both 32 and 64 bit systems. Make sure you install the one you want....
I didn't ;( So now I'm left with starting all over after removing the 32 bit os...blah

The new Core i7 just came out. It's a bit pricey right now, but might be worth checking out so that you don't buy into the dead end of the older architecture.

Aye... the i7s are smokin. The lower end ones are almost as good as the Extreme versions of the previous chip, at a cost of ~$200 - $300. Not too shabby.

When Age of Conan came out, I only had 1gig of RAM (2x 512 mb sticks). This caused AoC to run like shit. I bought two sticks of 2gig RAM (4gigs total!). The RAM was only 60 bucks thanks to a mail in rebate. After putting the new RAM in, Age of Conan ran flawlessly for the 15 minutes that I actually played of that shit stain game.
I run on XP, and like Tal said my computer only utilizes 3.25 gigabytes of the RAM. However, it still runs like a million times better than when I only had 1 gigabyte of RAM. For only spending 60 bucks I think it was a wise investment, even if nearly 1gig is currently unused.
For your situation, I don't know what the difference between 2gigs and 4 gigs (3.25 gigs?) would be, but the difference from 1gig to 4 gigs of RAM was TO THE EXTREME
