Interesting. I'm surprised their government is going to an out and out ban, rather than taxing the hell out of the industry and pocketing the proceeds. I guess its harder since there are no storefronts per say and its all online?

The government there has cracked down on this before. So unless they are more serious than last time, it will not change much. It also is not really odd for a communist country :P . They even regulate when games can be released.

They seem to have thrown in prepaid game cards as somehow the same as buying currency in game, unless they weren't talking about game time cards. That could be a big deal depending on how many people pay for mmo's that way over there.
