I don't think her money is an issue.

It does annoy me a bit to hear about things like him renting her private jet for his campaign, for $1. For all intents and purposes, that's either a massive donation or it means that her finances are involved in the campaign and should be more public than they are.

I don't agree with the idea of her finances being public knowledge. Even the issue of the jet is iffy for me; she has access to a jet, well by all means make use of it to save money then. If Obama has someone in a similar position that can save him some travel money he should be able to use it as well.

I would be opposed to a corporation offering up transportation in exchange for some consideration down the road, but this does not appear to fit that. It does invite scrutiny of any possible affect his votes have had on any holdings of hers, however.

“It has been the McCains’ practice and procedure, as previously indicated, to pay off the balance of credit cards on a monthly basis, so they do not carry credit card debt,” the aide said in a statement

Nice she can pay off that monthly $500,000 balance. makes me confident in thier ability to champion the "little guy".

I read and re-read the article trying to figure out what issue was trying to be invented. Other than the McCains are filthy stinking rich:), I'm not geting the point of the article. I mean isn't it a given that all politicians at that level are filthy rich? :devil

The politician is not the rich one; his wife is.

Since you'll never know how much of her money came from the inheritance and how much came from sideways lobby money, you'll never really know that for sure.

Especially since the McCains have been very dodgy in releasing her financial statements.

The only issue, unless something is discovered on where the money comes from being nefarious, is that it's hard to paint Obama as elitist when your own credit card charges approach $750,000.00 a month.

I seem to recall that line from the Kerry campaign, and it seemed a good time to share it.
