I play Obetrice on Pinnacle server , so does Selor 65 shaman from Casus Belli and Immortal mercy , Im not sure the name of his toon but i was at my dads Tattoo shop (where selor works) and his PC is set up next to my dad (jezybell) and they play together hehe. I know kayler and Calamina play on Pinnacle also because selor and my pops were playin with em the other day. Anyway if you play on Pinnacle server , send a tell , Not sure its spelled Pinnacle seeing as how i live with my mom and its not at this house so i rarely play ;)

P.S Selors main is Daarek but they play alts alot.Last i heard both of them where level 40ish

I can't see this game being anything other than a filler game for the upcoming ones.. is it really that interesting?

Its empty, if you are into casual gaming like 3/4 h a week its nice but for me its not worth paying 15$ a months for it :)

The character creation is cool.
That's it.

Yes, it is sort of a filler game right now..but to put it into better terms:

There is a good deal more content in CoH than there was in EQ at its release.

They are also about to add the second major content upgrade(free) as well.

The only thing CoH doesn't really have that EQ does..is tradeskills.

I'm looking forward to not having to make 1,000 fanny packs to skill up enough to make my cape.

'A nice filler game' about sums it up - but I must say that it's really nice being able to just log on for an hour or 2 after work and do a couple of missions and actually make some progress on my character. Because I don't have the same expectations from CoH that I did of EQ, I don't mind the instanced content, and I've really enjoyed the story arcs (just starting one from one of my Brickstown contacts now, and have about 8 completed 'souvenirs'). I don't have to worry about raiding, about gear, about differences in ability between my character and another character of my AT/level because of guild/playstyle differences, etc... and when my friends who only log on every week or two pop online, I can just sidekick them and off we go!

I also love reading people's character histories and seeing people's character concepts (and have picked out a few other biologists from their character names/descriptions, including a Thermophile, a Spongiform, and a Monkshood, and chatted with them) - and as far as 'advancement' goes, as a level 30 Gravity/Kinetics controller, I'm looking forward to the next 8 levels, as that is when we get our powerhouse powers (not that Gravity Distortion Field + Hasten isn't powerful in itself, but actually being able to do damage will be something new and exciting and woowoo Singularity... :) ).

Sure, the game has its flaws - right now it's somewhat unbalanced in favor of the offensive builds - but all in all it's well worth my 15.00/month right now and I'd recommend it to anyone who likes the comic book genre or wants to have some fun at a game that one can actually play, and progress in, on a much more casual basis than EQ.

I play on Pinnacle atm as the "The Red Lobster"...About level 17 atm mainly because i play only when im not on EQ.
Atm it's a filler, but it's starting to flesh out fairly nice. Got to remember it took EQ 5 years to get where they are now, while CoH has been out only 3 months. They are putting in capes, some more zones and villians/groups among other things i think next big update.
From what i've been hearing, they'll be doing more powersets, underwater zones and such later on. Plus with CoV coming out in a year or so, the ability to play as a villian.
It needs work but as others have said, it's fun to be able to do stuff with limited play schedules...

Whip and Archery powersets are coming next, and webslinging "eventually"! I personally am looking forward to the pvp aspect of the game that will hopefully give it a good deal of depth.

However, I gotta say just duoing with my girlfriend is a great deal of fun, more than exp grinding in Everquest has ever been. We pick one story arch and follow it through, and it adds a good deal of depth.

Crys, you may want to look up "Fable" aka Lyshan on Pinnacle and he could tag you for the supergroup I'd bet. Kayler and Calamina (as listed above) and a bunch of other ex-CB/SoT, as well as a few other misc (Ainwein and myself, Fandros, a few other EW) are all in a supergroup and we fight crime!

Have they made any moves to implement PvP stuff yet? I only played the game briefly, but it already seemed to have a nice setup for PvP-ish things.

Aye I play on Pinnacle, and but play so sparingly ( priorities to Real life and EQ/EW). Recently got level 26 and took Soul Drain.../cackles

Pretty sure playtime will decrease soon there with the advent of Solo LDoN's. I can grind those out and max out ole Eq Fandros. /cheer

The game is pretty clean and runs well tho, each time you level up there's decisions to be made in how you spend yer slots/powers.

Also fun to upset a group of enemies enough that they send ambushs after you. Made a mistake of going afk the other day after taking a Sky Raider mission. By the time I got back there was a lil red box asking if I wanted a rez or a port to the hosital.

/thrusts fist at the Sky Raiders...oooo you'll get yours!!!

Ambushes are terrific. To explain: A great part of the game involves taking on missions as part of a story arc. Your superhero career begins taking on low level thugs like the Hellions and Skulls (2 rival gangs), and gets more interesting as you take on numerous more advanced super villain groups.

After awhile, some groups get unhappy with your interference in their operations, and they send minions to go after you. This usually occurs after you take on a new mission against them. Just the other day, the Tsoo (Oriental thugs with a touch of "Big Trouble in Little China" to them) came after one of my guys. If you're in a group, the ambush party is larger, which can suck if you've split up in the city.

These days I mostly play The Coprolite ("stone" tanker) on Protector and Cerulamander (energy/energy blaster) on Triumph, levels 26 and 17 respectively.

Agree about the "filler game"- not a ton of content- just mindless killing from my lvl 17 perspective but I'm sure more strategy will be needed the higher up you go- It's kinda fun to get a group of blasters together and drop "AoE Rain" at once on a group of mobs- man to they drop fast and the tanks/scrappers can finish off the rest quite nicely! :)

My seven year old son loves the game.
I can't say I have a interest in it myself.

Issue 2 has really jazzed up the game a bit. They have put in a lot of new badges for the easter-egg hunter type, some of which actually unlock special powers if you do a certain set of them, and the content has become a lot more dynamic, with many more spawning/wandering mobs, improved AI, and a greater variety of interactive objects. The Terra Volta respec mission, where you have to save the Terra Volta nuclear reactor core from hordes of attacking Sky Raiders/Freakshow/Ritki (depending on level) is just damned cool, with you having to use cooling guns on the reactor, keep getting force field bubbled by a generator to protect yourself from the radiation, avoid booby traps on the way in, etc.

It's not as immersive a game as EQ is, by any means, but it's starting to become quite a bit richer and while I didn't like the clunky chat interface (you can't talk while moving, for example) and the pace of gameplay so much at first, I find that I've really come to enjoy the 'seat-of-the pants' feel of it...

And Manny Moe and Jack (my Singularities, aka the 'Pep Boys') rock :)
