Hmmm.. this could be an incredible solution to all those people like myself who have returned to EQ having missed the old days and hate how much it has progressed.

It could equally be a tragic attempt by old-timers to recreate and capture that nostalgic dream lost long ago that can never really be revived again.

Either way, I'm interested.

They run groups like this over on FoH about every couple of months. It holds interest for a month or so and then everyone quits. There is a reason things were changed, and there is a reason we don't play anymore. :devil

Truthfully, how many of us can afford to spend a week of our time with our guild camping Ragefire for a cleric epic?

Make that 2 weeks, with server resets and patches. (Zone-wide /ooc trivial pursuit games only go so far.)

But how many of us would do that now, and not become homicidal when the cleric sells the account shortly after?

I remember in Final Destiny someone had the great idea that we'd knock out 3 in a row. Angie, Dashmoo, and ... Kaitiana maybe?

I was a recruit at that point so I couldn't bitch, and I had to show up a lot so it seemed like I was commited to the cause so they'd recruit me ... but god that was like the worst two weeks of my life.

And it was before AAs so killing all the lava duct crawlers didn't do jack and shit for me :(

"It could equally be a tragic attempt by old-timers to recreate and capture that nostalgic dream lost long ago that can never really be revived again."

That sentence nailed it perfectly.
It is like trying to go back to high school when you are 30 years old...just cant happen and be as fun as it was...lol

Apparently Al`Kabor, the Everquest Mac server, is still up and running, and still frozen in time in the PoP era. That may be an option for some of you.

Rathe wasn't bad, just frustrating when an enchanter forgot to refresh a mez and wipes everyone.

Coirnav was the one I didn't like because it was such a cluster fuck.

The developers stopped working on the Mac version. The one developer that had been supporting the Mac left SOE a while ago.

Coirnav sucked because it was continously broken
