I'd vote for him if I could!

Doesn't matter who wins at this rate ... released today: http://www.arctic.noaa.gov/reportcard/seaice.html

23% of the arctic ice cover melted from 2005 to 2007. That means in ~6 years it'll all be gone.

Did global warming begin when the glaciers covering north america and europe melted ? With the polar caps having been proven to have been tropical many moons ago, No wonder everyone is vieng for claim on the poles.

I do agree that we are somewhat attributable to the increase in global temp. and love to sell "green " polar bear friendly items at high prices to people who think there saving the world and will pay the green friendly costs. Other than some new technology to come along to scrub the atmosphere to make the planet more hospitable to alien invaders. Selling your home on the coast and buying inland in Arizona might be the best option.

Id vote for him, but sadly would be a misplaced vote like Perot was.

LOL

A thread about Colbert running for president turns into a thread about Global Warming in under 4 posts.

Apparently I left off the "may as well vote for Colbert" part that I meant to.

And Akipt, I've honestly not seen anything worth reading coming from you in the past ... well, I'd say just about ever :) So you can't really be one to talk, eh?

I'd be hurt if I actually gave a fuck about you and your negative rep hits.

Oh, and my post wasn't really about you anyway.

What's retarded about global warming is that it has become so politicized and no one knows jack shit about it. Republicans don't believe in it, Democrats do. I'll be damned if either can tell me why though.

Valence issues = lose

I was over at NASA last week interviewing John Mather who won a Nobel prize and he said that its taken a long time but their official stance switched from "might exist but its not proven" to "it definitely exists and its worse than we thought" just this past year. NOAA is coming out pretty loud about it too. Its the first time that the various branches of the government have recognized it as a serious issue. I may never understand it, so I'll have to simply side with NOAA and NASA given they're all a few thousand times smarter than I.

Though back on topic, I remember the Stewart / Colbert '08 posters from a while back and I seem to remember someone (Rolling Stone?) interviewing John Stewart about the possibility of it happening and he was skeptical at best.
