So here's a random question ...
I am going to be purchasing office space for my company with the addition of new employees. Is it possible to have a computer at work with all of my invoicing software and games and random stuff AND every night when I get home have the same setup? Kinda like how I sync my Treo to Outlook only everything I worked on that day (emails, documents, etc.)?

I use Dropbox (https://www.getdropbox.com/referrals/NTM2MDkzNzk) for that, and love it. I used to use Mesh, and it worked fine too, but it always felt somehow poorly integrated with the OS ironically enough.
If you're not paranoid about your files being stored in "teh cloud" like that, these passive syncing solutions are awesome. Your other computers (assuming they're on) will be synced by the time you get to them.

The LaCie portable Hardrives like the 500gb one I have has software built in that provides this. I currently use it for work.

Interesting question. We do this on a much deeper level with servers by replicating data centers with hundreds of servers to another but had never thought of it at a PC level.

That DropBox is pretty cool. I won't need to backup stuff on my personal MAC because I'll probably move it into the office (no need to edit video at home if I have an office) but answering e-mails and doing stuff like invoicing and accounting and stuff would be useful to do from home since there'll be plenty of days I won't go into the office (at least, I'd like to think that).

One trick that's handy with Dropbox is using symlinks (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NTFS_symbolic_link) to redirect settings directories to a synced folder/location in the Dropbox. I force all my Live Writer drafts into a shared spot that way, for example, even though Live Writer itself doesn't support custom data locations.

I did this for years with ssh and Subversion but it's not possible at my current employer :> If you have reliable networking between the two there are a half dozen ways to do this including a SCM system (Subversion, CVS, even SourceSafe if you're masochistic), rsync, and any given backup software you can instruct to run on a regular basis with access to both systems.

The office space I'm looking at is really only like 4 blocks from my house and it shares a building with the same Verizon office that gives me my fios I'll be getting soon ... so it should be pretty solid I'd imagine.
