So I bought the computer, installed everything and its running super fast.

Is there any easy way to make it so Windows stops using the C: drive (my SSD) and starts using my D: drive (my 120 GB) for my temp folders, downloads, program files, and stuff of that nature? To keep the writing and so forth down on the SSD and so forth.

To my knowledge you just have to do custom installs and point it to that area. If there is another way though I'd love to hear it!

Gratz on the new system :)

Open up your User folder under the start menu, and then right click the folders > properties > location tab > move button then select where you want it moved to.

I'd make the folders on the D drive first, easier that way. I do this with my raptor so I keep just the games and stuff I want loaded fast on it, and all my pr0n and everything else on my 1.5TB storage drive. It's also very handy if your OS dies cause when you reinstall you just point the folders back to the ones on the D drive and your files are there. Though I <3 my Windows Server for my backups, it's saved my bacon twice now.

Elemak, that was exactly what I was looking for. Fil, are you running Windows 7?

Was able to move my Downloads, My Documents, My Music, My Pictures, My Videos, and Saved Games folders - that'll save my SSD quite a bit.

I also disabled defrag, apparently I'm not supposed to do that to a SSD?

Yes Win7 but I don't see that option :(

Win7 should've automatically turned background degragging off when it was installed on an SSD (you haven't needed to manually defrag since Vista).
