The Libyan revolutionary forces entered Qaddaffi's compound in Tripoli today. They had proclaimed that when they enter his compound, Libya will be free; today is being called "Victory Day".

I wish them all the best in forming a new, democratic country. Hopefully outside fingers will stay out of the process, but we all know how that goes.

Now, if only Syria had more to offer the outside world, maybe Nato would offer some assistance to the people being butchered by Assad and his stormtroopers.

So much in the world has changed for the good while Obama has been president (not giving him 100% credit). I think its sad that nobody actually gives him any credit though for anything.

I actually started laughing out loud the other day in my living room when they were talking about McCain and Lindsey Graham's comments on "the failure of the U.S. in exerting the full force of it's air power".

Neither bothered to say anything about how to pay for that weaponry and armament that would have been used, but they are quick to talk about President Obama's wasteful spending.

I think Obama handled this pretty well, limited involvement under the NATO umbrella that gave the rebels a more even playing field. good day for Libya so cool to see the joy of people tossing a complete asshole who screwed them for 4 decades.
Cracks me up to see these people crying because we are not certain what form of government will come post Qadaffy. thats like shatting your drawers and refusing to change them because clean undies might be scratchy and uncomfortable

I was under the impression that twitter and Facebook brought about the arab spring and subsequent London riots. I didn't know Obama had a voice or hand in any of it. other than being in office

Usually when there is any kind of positive to the USA uprising, the US has something to do with it... either known or unknown to its population.

I am not sure if the people will be better off or not. Time will tell if they are able to stabilize that country or not.. Who will be the next nut job to take over? Until that's decided how will they control the unrest so that everything is completely destroyed by looting and destruction. The footage is crazy, guys running out in the street fully automatic weapons, pulling the trigger aiming down the street and looking away...haha.
