Hahhaa..
Thats fucked up. I grew up in Meriden and I know every party involved. I think I know the dude who got his ass beat, Im not sure. But I definitely know Lawlor.
I know where the beating took place, Yale Acres, and I can say the dude probably deserved what he got. That being said, Lawlor is an asshole, always has been. Meriden police used to be way too tight with the local motorcycle gangs, the new generation are all steroid freak cowboys.
The lawyer, Norm Patis, is a cool fucking guy though.

I'm assuming this is the officer beating the suspect/end of a car chase? If the video doesn't show, scroll down a bit.
It's funny, as someone who usually supports the police, what my reaction was. At first I figured it must have been a fairly heated chase, and something was seriously wrong with the guy the way they ran him off the road. Must have done something pretty nasty. I was curious about the first take downs going on, but I understand (without saying it's okay) the adrenaline and instinctual reactions behind an authority figure stopping a feeling suspect. At the point where two officers start beating the man, while a third is in the shot, I started feeling sick, and would hope to see those two fired, arrested, and charged with assault. There was no call for their actions at that point, and the final comment on the video was very telling about their state of mind.
