Is there anyway to create a clean MP3 off of a DVD soundtrack. I mean just taking the sound out of it.
Like a song that is only released as a video on DVD that I would like to make an MP3 out of.

I do not think it's possible with conventional computer tools. It seems that the music is embedded to a point that you can't pull it out. Here's a similar situation to look at: if I were to open a .wmv video in Windows Movie Maker 2, I wouldn't be able to export the sound clips individually, I could only edit the original sound to be quieter, nonexistent, etc. I think the situation is similar with DVD movies. I may be wrong, of course.. there's some cool programs out there for sure. Hope this helps.

Cripes! Have you people ever heard of Google? (http://www.google.com/search?sourceid=navclient&ie=UTF-8&q=extract+dvd+audio)
Ok, so, that might have at least answered your question, but, the TRUE answer, which is often the answer to DVD questions, is that DVDDecrypter (http://www.dvddecrypter.com/) can extract audio in stream mode, and it's one of the few DVD programs you'll ever need. IT'S FREE!
Remember to select DEMUX in the stream processing options. (You'll be in IFO mode, and on the right is stream processing.) Anyway, play with it for an hour and you'll figure it out.
[Well, you weren't smart enough to type your qeury into google, but I figure you'll get it eventually.]

DvD Decrypter is the bomb. I've had great success with it and DVD Shrink (for those dual layered turds).

Thanks Palimax,
p.s. - I was smart enough to take 3 seconds to post here. Go about my life, check back once to see your post and had it done in 45 seconds from then. Google is slow and requires interaction. Thanks though.
