The board keeps eating my posts. I just spent 45 minutes starting a new thread based on a CNN article today, hit the 'post' button, and got that 'your message must be at least 1 character long' error. Regardless of whether I try to postdata, or backarrow, the article is eaten. I'm kicking myself that I didn't save what I was writing, as I don't have time to write it again today (and it was a juicy one ;) ), but wonder if you might be able to look into it for me. It has only occured since the ayonae.com move.

Regards,
Nydia

Sorry your post got eaten.

The only thing I can think of that would do that is if you accidentally had your post wrapped in a quote tag. Characters inside quotes don't count toward your 1 character limit.

I'll disable the limit and see if that helps.

Ha, classic. I responded to this post to say this was happening to me to, and what happens?

"The message you have entered is too short. Please lengthen your message to at least 1 characters."

Nydia, do you use Firefox? If so, do you use Adblock and NoScript? It is about the only thing I can think of that could be causing it from the client side.

Hmmm, I had to allow "yahooapis.com" to run in my NoScript Firefox addon before it finally let me post the previous response.

I use Firefox, and have done nothing to alter the generic installation, and I have had no problems with posting over the four or five years I have been using it.

I've always been amused by people that answer in the negative to these sorts of things :>

If you're running something like NoScript, you would definitely need to make allowances here. All of the AJAX type functionality requires JavaScript to load.

Part of solving a problem can include investigating the causes and eliminating possibilities as far as what is the cause or source of the problem. We're just trying to help out.

Personally if I had this problem I would have sent a PM, but obviously is Nydia looking for a solution from any source or anyone else possibly experiencing this same problem.

I have to allow scripts from yahooapis.com to add to someone's reputation, but not to just post. (I haven't tested the "quick reply" box, though.)

Forum related but not directly to Nydia's problem, Haloface is having problems again connecting to the forums. He's having a "server busy, try again" error message since 2 weeks...

I don't have this issue (obviously), but maybe is it related to the .com move?
