I'm a rather sweet person when it comes to people asking for a buff, especially a SoW for a CR. As long as I'm idling, waiting for a friend or a raid to start, I have no problems as long as they come to me.
But, lastnight some low level comes walking over to me and "Demands" I buff his sorry hide. When I blinked then ignored him, he started getting very rude and nasty over it. I finally snapped back that maybe if he'd learn some manners and had politely asked first, then I'd have gladly tossed him a few. At which point he calls me an uber bitch and storms off.
For the first time since playing EQ I wish I could have dropped someone in Skyfire or WL.

My favorite was.. being a wizard...
To group up with the jackass who demanded from me or my group-mates.. then Port the group to Hate or if not 46, some distant remote location.
Then leave.

LoL
I just thought the same thing, I usually balanced buit how nice it would have been to tell the person "you have to group so i can buff you", then load a nice lil prot spell Spek and weeeeeeeee
I dont know if i could have passed up that opportunity, especially as bad as this person sounds.

Well Rugal always is picking on me that I'm just too nice to people. And yeh I do love helping. I like giving out buffs of any level for free and will port someone in need.
But, newbs demanding like that, then the name calling. Port or arena? Hmm so tempting...:evil

Creativity in ruining the day of a n00b is an art form (http://www.thesteelwarrior.org/forum/showthread.php?s=ff56e7e172bab8c1aa4b8d4a22b8e611&threadid=4195&perpage=15&display=&pagenumber=1

Cobalt scar seems a nice destination for someone like that... I doubt he has the faction to survive...

Nothing is worse than the raid leader saying Engage and you start getting tells from the mental midgets on the raid asking you for virtue.
Being a cleric is evil.

I had some player asked for buffs from me once while playing Bohbo, i explained to him i could not cast buffs on him, and he called me a lier saying he saw me casting all kinds of buffs including SoW and Lev. He didn't understand that I could not cast these on him because they were clickies and self only. He continued to insist that i buff him and that i was only trying to hurt him (sounds like Les Barons), he demanded i use my clickies on him especially since the used no mana. Needless to say this got tiresome so he told me to use every clicky i had that would work on him, So this little guy got See invis, a Stamina buff, resists cold, and some other useless buffs for his X-treme sports leveling. And then lastly he had a little visit with my Arx Key to seru (ports the group to the Arx, Seru's building, in the city of Seru) The unfortunate thing was he was an evil race (insert big euro sadface here) and he happened to find himself on my ignore list right after i got the "LOL wtf is this (" upon zoning.

Being a Half Elf Female Warrior that has dyed her armor PURPLE, I tend to get MORE than my fair of druid, cleric, paly buff requests and the occasional request for me to sing mana.
My solution hotkey ...
Sorcha begins to cast a spell.
Sorcha's spell fizzles
Sorcha begins to cast a spell.
Sorcha's spell fizzles
Sorcha begins to cast a spell.
Sorcha's spell fizzles
After spaming that for a minute
/tell Newb_01 "I am SOOOOO sorry, I just got the new spell line and it's just not my day. I am OOM but will med and get you as soon as I can"
Wait a few more minutes and spam the spell hotkey.
Usually by then they get pissed or give up. If they get snotty I just reply "Next time try asking a <insert paladin, bard, druid or cleric here>. Because last time I checked WARRIOR SPELL CASTING was not included in the latest patch."
Of course you still get the occasional Asshat. Last best reply I got after this whole ordeal was
Asshat_01 replies: Oh sorry I didn't know you were a Warrior. Can you still buff me though?"

Hehe they are getting a bit more rude out there in the buff dept. Whenever my cleric starts to get the rude ones I just throw them in the group (where my wizzy is already grouped) and explain to them that CT is loaded and will go off if they make another comment...how fun it is to watch their little pie holes close with such wonderous rapidity.

hey sorcha, I get that a lot too.
I was running through Everfrost to Halas for some goofy tradeskill or quest or something, and stopped to click my j-boots and my goblin skull earring (have to be extra careful in those newbie zones you know..) and lo and behold I got several tells from a newbie BL demanding that I buff his warder and himself.
I explained that I couldnt, because it was self only. So thinking that I have to do something for him, asks for 100 plat to buy his spells. Sigh. At this point I just ran off, and luckily j-boots is fast enough to out run an unSoWed newbie beggar :(

Ok, i get a tell from someone at poj yesterday. Can you res please? Fine, i have nothing to do. Res the person. Persons group mate tells me after the res to hold tight, the person who i just resed is going to donate. 20 pp. this was a char in their mid 50's. and 20 pp. After that, it was demanded of me that i buff the group and the groups pets.
I do not mind resing for free. I do not mind resing for a decent donation. But asking me to zone, run to your camp, and insulting me with a 20 pp donation (and then requesting buffs on top of that) is beyond insulting.
Donate something reasonable (ie 100 pp for a res) or do not donate a damn thing, and say "thank you" (not thanks) and i would be more than happy to res you in the future, at no charge.
I think i should start the 20 pp list which means every subsequent time you ask me for a res, i acidently click revive instead. It is just rude and insulting. Like tiping 2 cents at a restaurant when the waiter provided excelent service.

I will rezz for free if
#1 i have nothing going on
#2 im asked REALLY nice
#3 I wanna piss off those clerics saying " Rezzing for plat 50p minimum"
and i will be a complete ass to those that
#1 ask me to go through 15 friggen zones to drag your sorry ass to the zone in with your entire group
#2 demand that i rezz your entire group and buff them
hehe been kicking around that idea for those very few occasions that someone demands that i come rezz and buff them...they will get a revive and pinzarn.
