Just wondering, I went to their website and it was a default type board with three posts I think. Are they gone for good?

Oh no! I guess if Dashmoo doesn't play EQ anymore that'd be your answer. She was that guild.

Yeah, it pretty much folded. A lot of us went to VA, and I haven't seen Dashymooh on in a long time.

Yep, she was. She was also pretty much everything that was wrong with that guild.
Does Vinces still exist? He was a good guy. Kind of Ironic how people moved to VA.

I could have sworn I saw Dashmoo listed on Luclin in EQplayers...

I thought it was interesting myself when it happened. :)
Question is, would you have gone over to VA if you were still playing Chena-ho when FD folded? :D

I probably would have...lol...if they would have had me.

Remember when EA (they called themselves XA, because they couldn't spell) and Vallis Scortus or something made VA? No one could believe it because they were enemies. Then FD merging into them, also enemies. As the player base died off, people got desperate and did what they could.

Vallis Scortor and Vision guilds merged to create VA.
As the player base died off, people got desperate and did what they could.
Hardly desperate, its the natural progession of the game.
Over the last 3-4 years VA has been involved in a number of mergers with other guilds including:
- SOH
- FOD
- FD
- And stragglers off the tail end of other guild breakups.
VA has been successful in continuing to progress through raid content by slowly attracting new members. Some view VA as a stepping stone guild and that may be partially true, but we still retain many old time players that conform to our "Family Guild that Raids" mentality.
VA always seems to be a couple of years behind bleeding edge progression, but with time and no doubt level cap increases we path on (currently breaking through AG and later this summer FC).
Desperate? No, I would say long-term strategy.

Heh, my son was a member of Vallis Scorter on the server prior to ARo, and got himself banned due to his cocky little self. He used to spend a lot of time telling me about all the stuff they were doing though, and the comraderie and sense of being part of something. A lot of his stories about VS helped encourage me to finally check EQ out.
All I will say is he was a Druid in those days and his character name started with an M.

Let's see Dashmoo blames me for the fall of FD.
I came back from a break and was not happy and I server transferred to the Rathe to be with Vinces, Katrinii, Sylventhe, Berthold. Shortly after I left Moklianne, Summul, and Varressa transferred over here. Dashmoo then gave the guild to someone and server tranafered to Luclin and joined Township Rebellion.
Vinces is now in Japan, he got a command and is LT Col in Marine corp.(just moved there this week)
Varressa got married and had a baby!
Summul heads to the sand box Tuesday will be there 6 mos embassy duty.
Bert Kat Sylv and I are on most nights raiding and being normal Mokli is enjoying summer life!
Oh Mezzmoron moved his zerker crazy over here and has not been on much.

I think it was something like Memolil or Menolil, or something like that. This was back before the server split when folks moved to ARo, and he was banned on the prior server. Then, after he talked me into trying the game on ARo, he set up a new account and could not get his old name back or something, and after some messing around he started playing a warrior, and ended his playing days as Barlow Hemingway.
I would have smacked him up side the head if he had been Mesha, or whatever, who even I have heard stories about, heh.

Dashmoo was great for always wrongly blaming someone else instead of looking at her own shortfalls as a guildleader. There were many raids that would never have gotten off the ground if SC had not been there, you were alot of fun and a very skilled Rogue SC...don't let Dash get you down.
To see that Vinces left speaks volumes. Last I spoke with Vinces he was flying F-18's out of my old haunting grounds of MCAS Beaufort SC.
Varressa leaving also says alot, these were people who had true faith in that guild.
FD had some very good people and real top quality EQ players, Dash was their biggest holdback.
I would have smacked him up side the head if he had been Mesha, or whatever, who even I have heard stories about, heh.
I don't know anything about Mesha other than the hearsay, but I do know that there were alot of rumors about many players that were dead out false. All you had to do was beat someones ass in a duel and it became a let the rumors fly, believe me...I know it firsthand.

Mesha was every bit as bad as the rumors. I probably have screenshots here somewhere, from the few times I ended up in groups with him/her.

Vinces prior to Japan went to Paris Island and was XO there. Then he got the Japan station. He spent the summer in Cali prior to going overseas doing what pilots love flying!

Soph logged in theother day and sent me a WTF tell that is the last time i have heard from him. As far as the rest of FD when Dash nuked the boards I lost all my contact info from there.

still playing?
Nope, just mess with WoW now and then when bored. Lost Fires is no longer active, and any players from the guild still playing have had to join other guilds, or keep the tag and bear with PU groups.
Glad to hear you are pursuing the education; I am a strong believer in it.
Stay safe out there, and enjoy the coeds. :p
