Yet again a pop culture conversation arises at the infamous dinner table.

What are the best horrible movies? You know what i mean, movies that are poor poor entries into our movie lore, and you are almost ashamed to tell people you like.

For example: I love Starship Troopers.

I also list Speed Racer, since it got voted worst movie of the year by Time, i guess it fit.

Any of the Fast and the Furious movies. They're so lame, yet I find myself watching them if they're on when I'm on the treadmill.

Any movie featured on MST3K.

Starship Troopers is a good one. Apparently they made like 12 of these things, most straight to DVD.

I have no clue why...but...Karate Kid...

The Dolph Lundgren Punisher was particularly horrible in that ridiculous way. Ninjas with machine guns on carnival slides? Tell me more!

For godsake, don't tell anyone this, but: National Treasure (1 and 2).

I know, I know *sigh* It's like dirty porn, it just feels so good.

Oh, and by the way, Starship Troopers is bloody quality, it doesn't belong in this shameful discussion.

I loved both National Treasures, probably because I have a few relatives that are Masons.

I also think both National Treasures were great. The puzzle solving plot gimmick is a nice change from the hack 'em and slash 'em crap they have been churning out the last decade.

The Breakfast Club and Sixteen candles.

Hey now, Commando is a great movie, not a horrible movie...

Some of the best one liners ever in that movie: I eat Green Berets for breakfast!

I love the Last Starfighter!
Man someone should release an ultimate 80s sci fi collection on BluRay with these movies on it. I'd gobble it up.

I always thought Ishtar was the absolute worst movie actually. Gigli was a REAL close second.

I don't think that Gigli is a horrible movie that anyone has a guilty pleasure of watching tho'; it is just a horrible movie that everyone considers too horrible to watch.

Blood of Heroes, baby. "Nobody carries the Dogboy". But then I keep trying to convince people that this Rutger Hauer Movie is the best thing since sliced bread as well. It's for when you are looking for a dose of the Road Warrior, but have gotten sick of Mel Gibson.

Heh, perhaps.

Ladyhawk might fit into this category now. That rockin' soundtrack straight from the '80s makes it difficult to sit through at times.

Legend, the one that was released in the US. I have recently seen Legend:The Director's Cut (and how it was released overseas) and was completely blown away by how much different it was. The Director's Cut was much, much better. Also look for Robert Picardo (The holographic Doctor from Voyager) as Meg Mucklebones, the troll-looking witch that lived in the swamp!

Let's not forget how hot Mia Sara looked when dressed up in her finery and dancing with Tim Curry's proxy.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck and Christopher Walken.......

"The violent story about how a criminal lesbian, a tough-guy hit-man with a heart of gold, and a retarded man came to be best friends through a hostage."

Walken plays a Police Detective, not the retarded guy, although there could always be some debate.

IMDb rating: of the bottom 100 movies Gigli was at #92.
