I was tempted to hunt down the original thread in which we discussed this topic, but it is late and I am tired. Nevertheless, I wanted to post this link before calling it a night. It is hard to feel good about the long term result of this eminent domain issue, as there are apparently no winners; however, I do like seeing the greedy folks looking at expanding their tax-base (income), at the expense of long term residents, eating some crow.

The city of New London won in court, but it has lost on the ground. Where charming Victorian houses like Susette Kelo's pink cottage once stood, today there are only barren tracts of land. Development plans have foundered, and officials are trying to rebuild the area by attracting the same working-class people it originally evicted.

Soon, it may be begging people like Susette Kelo to build new homes on the vacant fields where a wonderful community once thrived. New London's failures are mirrored in New Brighton, where homeowners and businesses have seen their property taken for a redevelopment project launched in the late 1990s.

Ya know....karma is a funny thing...
