What exactly is a podcast? Is it a fancy term for a radio show wannabe thats shipped as a mp3?

All these new terms like "high definition radio" when its not higher definition than analog but really a lower definition just bothers me.

All the faggy 24 year old professors at AU started doing it last semester. All I know is it lets me get a lecture on mp3!
