That agro seems kind of whacky since the last update?

Last night I was playing a lowbie priest and duoing with a friend on IoR. The scout would engage the mob and I walk closer to combat range and just look at the mob......no spell casting, no attacking, the mob would run over to me. It was the strangest crap I have ever seen.

Also, what is your take on the new spell recast and refresh timers?

I hate it!!!

Even self buffs generate agro, and my experience is that if you buff the scout, just the fact that the scout wears your buff, generates agro for you. I know its strange, but its the only explanation I can give.

I didnt notice any change in recast timers... except the fact that my sneak (holly's whatever trap, lvl 40 talent) doesnt become available after the recast time, I need to relog.

p.s. got my Legendary Jboots! now I need 2 more levels to wear it. The 10% movement haste it gives is automatic, or needs chaincasted?

Has to be worn and doesn't stack with Pathfinding making it worthless...well except for the 60 gps it sells for!!

Yes Lani I agree that doesn't make sense about the buffs. Though playing the priest again last night I noticed that it wasn't nearly as bad as the day before. I saw no mention in the patch notes of a fix so I don't know if something changed or what.

On my paladin I have several self buffs. They last 10min. Prior to this last big patch I could recast them as time was running out. Now if I try to cast the buff while there is 5sec left I lose the buff completely and then have to wait for a recast timer to count down. It is the most retarded thing ever.

Gratz on your boots! Only 10%? That is no better than my silly pally horse and that sucks :( 60g is that vendor bought or via the broker? The pricing on my server is so eratic things will be sky high one day and rock bottom the next.

I must say the additional character slots have afforded me yet more distractions :) I am having lots of fun making different classes. The game just seems to keep getting better and better maybe I will eventually settle on which class I want to play. I must admit playing the paladin is loosing it's fun as I level. I find it harder and harder to hold agro and playing utility tank gets boring constantly giving my AC to a guardian or berzerker.

Its strange btw. Some people say that Jbbots stack. Maybe they mean the freebie jboots, not the legendary one. Here is the link btw.

Oh - and the quest gives 20% XP at level 40. Then I completed the 20 slot backpack quest in EL, and gained another 25% :) I am now halfway to 41 :)

Lani

p.s. I wish you good luck on your class Fildien. If you enjoy the priest, go that way, you will find groups often :) There are too many guardians on the servers.

hehe Thanks Lanil :)

I'm having the most fun of late in the new zones, I really like the Adv Pack. We just dinged guild level 15 and are 20% from 16. Heritage quests are a big focus too, just lots of fun stuff so the alts are back to inactive while I try to finish some of them. I will play around with them later. :D

The JBoots quest was one of the more interesting Heritage quests, for sure. They're nice boots to wear, even if the effect doesn't stack with anything else.

I still wind up with Pathfinding up more than not... it works great for cancelling a stealth effect that hangs past the end of the encounter. :)

I suggest using Veil of the forest (or forester's insight at previous version) for this. Simply because it only has 1sec casting time, compared to pathfinding's 3 sec casting time. Also if you have a higher scout in group, pathfinding doesnt stack, but veil of the forest (self agi buff, and selfhaste 5%) always does...

.. except if you used primal reflexes (or whatever) previously, that granted you 2 casting levels, and you cant overwrite it :P

p.s. Killed the zillion HP skelly in COve of Decay yesterday - we were 4: 39 guardian, 37 druid, 31 monk, 41 ranger (myself) and the kill took 10mins. I wasnt out of power at the end, honest :P (well, the polished granite tomahawk helped :) - it has a 5% chance to proc a 436 power restoration).

How much does an Engraved Hide Plate cost nowadays? Still in the 2pp range? Fun for a heritage quest :)

I tried soloing that skeleton as a level 41 or 42 Assassin. I lasted about 15 minutes before his lifetaps finally did me in :(. We were both in the red as far as our hit points went... if I had just had some means to healing myself, I probably would have won.

Speaking of server firsts, looks like someone on Mistmoore took out the baddie at the end of Bloodlines Adv Pack last night. Everyone got some message message about it. Don't know if it was a game first or just server first, but very cool how they announce stuff like that.

Any of you working through Bloodlines? I really enjoy it, though that zone behind Timber Falls in Nek is huge....the loot is fandamntastic !

I tried as 41 ranger, full fulginate armor, and managed to get only 77% before his nukes ate me... But When you do the missing scouts quest, you get a heal potion as a reward :)

The new zones are fun, I have managed to finish the first 2 Dmorte's grave quest (soloable at 41 easily, but group was more fun), and finished the missing scouts quest in Tomb of night. Now I need to kill Grinnins - and I killed with my group 200, still no quest update. Went to sleep, trying again today.

Yeah we have been working on the missing scouts quest too. Can you confirm for me how to spawn the named mobs? We cleared whole areas with no spawn and then we went down a corridor and cleared and one spawned on our heads....it wasn't pretty thank god for evac!

In fact, you have to kill a certain kind of grimmins to make him spawn... well to make spawn the 2nd wave, then boss.

For boss 1: Its sporechanters - just go straight as you zone in. Kill 2-3 groups, then a 2nd group of sporechanters pop, then boss+3 sporechanters.

For boss 2: jump down in water (as you enter, keep hugging right - waterfall is close). Kill every grimmin that stands in water, and those close on shore. 5 groups I think. Then a 2nd wave pops. Then boss with a named fish as add.

For boss 3: Kill ruffians - head up from waterfall on ramp, and keep hugging right. Once ruffians are dead (5-6 groups) then kill 2nd wave, then untargetable chef spawns. Go close, 4 mobs will pop, kill them, then kill chef who becomes targetable.

For boss4: keep hugging right, till undead area. I think you have to break a wall here. Kill all mobs around pit, then named undead spawns. I think there is no 2nd wave. Beware the 1500 dd cone AE, I suggest your warrior to charge it, and turn him before the rest of the party joins.

Good luck with it.

Lani

p.s. after boss is dead, you should find a wounded scout lying on ground. Search the body to get quest update.
