How goes EQ2 these days?


I have given over to the dark side and now reside on Kirin Tor(sp) with a bunch of whacky friends :)

I still like it... I have started dual boxing, redoing all heritage quests from a healer side... Its awesome.

We got the quest bulbs above NPCs too now.

And Feb 21 there should be a new expansion again. will be announced at January.

I think for both eq2 and wow, the key above lvl 60 is a good guild.

Well I reactivated this weekend. I'm going to bounce between WoW and EQ2 I guess until something comes along that will keep me interested. Something about WoW just doesn't hold me, the quests I think. They bore the hell out of me. And well EQ2 wears me out. We'll see how playing only a couple of hours a week works with EQ2 these days. In the past I'd play for several hours a night every night, I can't do that anymore :(

In EQ2, what is awesome, is that you have a huge portion of solo quests that are interesting and you can do while lfg. I am mostly speaking about Desert of Flames. In Pillar of Flames, the Sergeant starts a quest then ortelians, then Amulet of Ro (its an awesome item) - thats a short one, and only last step needs group. Also there is the Damsel in Distress line, its an epic quest with like 20-25 subquests, and only last one needs a raid, and one (Finding my way subquest) needs a group - all the rest is soloable.

You can also do the Ring of Fate quest - it involves getting ally with the courts of Majdul one after the other, do their epic quests (mosts are soloable), and grab a broken medalion from instance courts. When you have all 3, you can start the rinmg of fate - that one needs many times a group, and you can become Hero of MajDul removing all faction problems.

I am also having huge fun dualboxing now, when you have a pocket healer, life is a bit easier. Also, I am closing most of the quests till Feb 21, if KoS will be similar to DoF in its quest styles, I will be very happy.

Just forgot to add :) Last saturday (when everyone is playing) we had a server patch. We were like "Huh? Why the hell do they do patches on saturday, when everyone plays?". And we found out: They only removed the gift boxes (see OP) and restored the chests. They pissed of all the players just for a visual patch. OMG. Thats Sony :)
