"The secondary market is something most online gaming companies are turning their backs on," says Chris Kramer, a director of corporate communications at Sony. "Every company is trying to wish hard that it goes away. But it's not going to. It's entrenched. What we're doing is attempting to legitimize the secondary market a little bit, and hopefully by shining a light on it, we'll clean it up to a certain extent." Time will tell.
Oh please, they are in it for the buck.

SOE is drowning in their own stupidity. Seems like they are trying to get IGE to throw them a lifeline. I look forward to the day when SOE declares bankruptcy.

You look forward to the day that SoE declares .....
Good lord, was the game so awful to you? Did they force you to play countless hours??
Hit delete and move on...
I'm glad they set up the ebay crew on their own servers, doesn't affect me in the least...

It took you a week to come up with this? You'll forgive me for not being impressed.

You'll forgive me for not knowing you from a hole in the ground and having a gajillion other things higher on my list to accomplish. Sorry to have been unable to rate your whiny post ahead of such crucial things as....
Trim my toenails
Watch grass grow
etc
etc

I've no doubt they're in it for profit, but I bet the addition of this feature will get rid of nearly all the scamming and other bullshit usually associated with account/item/plat trading. It's a good thing.

And if they DO make a profit i forsee other popular mmo's doing exactly the same thing in time...
People are going to do it whether or not SOE allows it or not so i don't condemn them for at least trying it...People seem to be mad that they can't "Stick it to the man" anymore...

I wasnt happy with Exchange. I could have lived with it.
But I was even less happy with their guild philosophy.
If you leave a guild, you punish them for having you.
So I left their game.

p.s. switched to WoW. Not that it is better, but all my friends are there :)

It is harsh but it just makes damn sure guild leaders know what they are doing when they make someone a patron. Being a patron should never be taken lightly by the guild or the player.
This Cheater Server crap is in progress now, they are doing /movelogs but I don't know when the servers themselves will be live.

Well the system changes it seems, so the question is out-of-date but still:
Player A joins. Player A becomes patron. Player A does heritages quests for 1 year, and writs and gives 500.000 xp contributed poinbts to the guild. Then player A goes (a child is born, a job change, bored of the game, whatever).- Guild looses 500.000 xp. And all others had their contributed points diminished because of one more dividend - player A.
That was an idiot way :)
Anyway, it seems that that changes.

Aye, this is why I said that it changes. A bit too late sadly, considering that it has been the main issue in guild forum on official website for now 6 months!
