Anyone still playing? Anything new happen to the game that made it more fun or anything?

I'm in game. Things are pretty fun. Granted, I enjoy alts so there's always something to do. On the more remarkable note, one member of our guild just got some bard BP from Castle MM that was a discovery. Very nice item given that we're not particularly advanced raid-wise. Evidently the next expansion will be a Kunark redux with an evil race added to the game.

Kunark, not Odus huh? The best thing EQ2 has going for it is the EQ1 nostalgia. I loved playing for the few weeks I did, but when I had to pick between the 2 WoW won out.

Nostalgi is in no way a bad thing either, I always thought if they did a huge overhaul on Eq1 graphics and gameplay wise that I would easily play more. I guess EQ2 is that overhaul these days :) I'll have to relog my fury on the pvp server and see if there is still alot of drama going on.

Wife and I are still playing EQ2 heavy on Mistmoore for guild Spellbound. EoF content is still fun. Heck, we are having fun with all of it. There is more then we could have hopped to do with one toon to lvl 70 so we have started alt armies to try and see and do new things.

Love the alt army; it does help diversify the game experience through the mid levels.

While EQ2 itself isn't particularly noteworthy from a gameplay standpoint, the expansions have all been quite good. While there is an element of nostalgia to each of them (especially EoF), they really add flavor and atmosphere to the game.

The devs did a great job of bringing old Arabia feeling to DoF. KoS brought back memories of Plane of Air but had its own thing going with ravasect, internecine war between aviak breeds and the three domains of Dawn, Twilight and Night. Everything in EoF is colored by the invasion of shadowed men and the looming Castle Mistmoore, which is a beautiful, if lethal, zone to play around in.

There's really no reproducing those old EQ1-when-new memories and experiences, but EQ2's nostalgia factor occasionally comes close.

Don't forget Unrest... Have not been in it yet.. But I guess it really brings out the lethal nostalgia ina big way.

Unrest is incredibly fun and one of the best designed zones in the EQ line. Lots of puzzles to solve, at least one "jump out of your seat" scary moment, lots of atmosphere, and a gnome that puts bombs in your pocket while you fight him. Once you get used to it, Unrest takes about 3 hours to get through -- our first trips took closer to 5 or 6. But it's a fun zone, and you get class hat/chest pieces there, among other nice items.

Ok so I am looking for a fresh start maybe away from the PVP servers so that I can relax without worrying about being ganked everytime I play. Najena is still dead, anyone on a server that has a good population from at the least 20 to 70? I hate being desperate for groups like I have to be on Najena.

I hear in about a week they are offering free server transfers. They are redoing the PVP populations and after that allowing transfers to other servers.

I don't do pick-up groups, but my guildies that do seem to have no problem on Everfrost.

Mistmoore has a healthy mature population level range.

Ah there sticking with the idea of not letting PVPer's bringing there elite PVE characters to PVP, well I do have my 50 Troubador that I cant play because of the lack of people on Najena, Are troubadors pretty popular in PVE?
