Vanguard is going under. I log on every day to solo by myself.

How is EQ2 doing? I beta'd it and wasn't impressed but I'm lookin to give it a try. Is it even feasible to catch up to the current high-end? Any cool people playing?

It's doing well, best I can tell. The base game isn't some revolutionary marvel of fantasy development, but it's good enough, and all the expansions have been well done and full of atmosphere. I tend to solo a lot when playing alts so am not sure how grouping is in lower levels, but I do see groups in various dungeons.

With dedicated play you can work up to the higher levels without taking 6 months, but it helps to have connections for grouping, gear, tradeskills (to make Adept III spells and rare armor/weapons), etc.

When soloing you'll still be by yourself, however. ;)

The game is still very active. Expansions are well done and not rushed. It's easy to level. Best to find a guild with your play style in mind. There are still a good amount of players at all levels, but of course, the fast majority of players are 60+ with most at 70.

if you want pvp, come to either nagafen or venekor. they just merged some of the servers onto venekor and have free transfers to nagafen. so there's a lot of killing going on now :)

we had an all-out battle royale in commonlands last night. it was spectacular!!!
a lot of people got 200+ kills just last night

I've played Vanguard to level 20 and EQ2 to level 20 and I really liked EQ2 more - but WoW still beats them both out for me.

I wouldnt mind playing VG if you'd get on every once in a while and level up =P
