View Full Version : EQII - Will you be coming?

In light of a thread above (and a few on the Joker forum), I'm wondering, who will be moving to EQII? Or playing EQI and II?
Additionally, who'll be sticking to Aro? I've always thought we've had a...unique, if not fun (haha) community, with some good folks (and arseholes, but what fun would it be without us?). So here's a lil poll.

Since the "I'm staying in EQ, don't need yet another addiction" option is missing I won't vote!

God, I hate to admit this. I should have my new comp by release date so i'm going to give it a shot on the new A-ro if there is one. Ever since I read Halo thread on it, and finally actually seeing the full e3 demo, the game has made very curious. God damn you SOE. Of course I am going to try WoW as well. which ever caters to casual game play gets my money. I'm jones'n for a new MMORPG to play.

I should be ready to give EQ2 a go in June when I return from overseas deployment. Lummus will be reborn.

Damn you Halo ;)
I was just going to just say 'screw you SoE' and strictly do WoW (that's still Faervas' stance atm), but my interest in EQ2 is sufficiently piqued at this point that I'm planning on at least coming over and checking it out...

Before the WoW stress test I wasn't sure.
Now having tasted the "unfinished" buffet (unfinished because Blizzard says it's unfinished. To be honest they could release the game now, it runs better than EQ I for Christs sake!) that is Blizzards efforts into the MMO community I can honestly say I'll definately be buying an account. I've not had that much fun in any game, ever!
I'm not saying I'm quitting EQ, but after having experienced Sony's efforts with new material (Luclin) and new games (SWG) I can honestly say I won't be touching EQ II for at least 2 years as it will be taking at least that long for them to make it playable. Not bitter here, just stating fact based on past performance.

SOE is like a drug dealer coming out with a new drug. SOE cartell .... Damn you SOE and your new addiction. Of course I will be playing EQ2 and sticking with EQ1 utill it's not possible to play both for whatever reasons :)
You know what's sad ... I used to keep buying other games but never play them because of EQ already. I could just imagine what EQ2 will do to me and my spare time. Oooh the tragedy, the tragedy I tell you.
I wonder how many servers EQ2 will have btw and playing options will be available ... like PvP or race specific / deity specific?

I will be trying EQ2 and if there is a A Ro server and or server that all the A Ro people are going too that will be the one I will join up on.

I'll be moving to EQ2 as well (probably on the ARo server), but more than likely will pop on to EQ Live every once in a while.

In the unlikley event I ever play EQ2( I'm gonna be stuck in FFXI for least another year+ with new expansion), I'll make sure to join you all on Aro.
They have to really impress me to get me to buy the game though, cause after EQ1 I won't even buy other Sony products in a futile self-boycott.

I'll try them both but I don't think EQ2 will be as playable is WoW will be in release. WoW Closed Beta has been going for almost 6 months while EQ2 is just starting up. Odd though that both games have a release date of 15 November 04 (according to EBgames.com). SOE is only shooting themselves in the foot if they try to catch up to Blizzard.

WoW doesn't have an official release date. All the game stores are just making one up. Different ones too.

just like the new HL2 release date, most of the release dates for games are up in the air and a guess at most

You tampered with my poll options!
Help! I'm being oppressed!
It's good to see so many who wish to unite on the other side :P
A lot of people I know have slipped in to beta (everyone but fucking ME, me who is obsessed with the game - figures), and are thoroughly impressed so far. Early days.
But it would be good to maintain this community for another four years - arseholes and elbows.
Speaking of - any plans on an EQII Aro forum?

I'm sure we'll be using the same boards. If Sony uses the same server naming scheme, we can replicate all the other categories for EverQuest II.

I will probably be there, unless EQ2 ends up being le lame.

Where's the "Fuck EQ II and the SOE horse it rode in on, I'm not playing it even if WoW does suck" option?

EQII, most likely not the Ayo Ro server.

Where is the, "I'd rather sit and watch tv with it turned off than play another mmorpg that has anything to do with SOE or Smedley" option?
I'll stick to FPS most likely, at least until Vanguard beta starts. I might give WoW a shot, but it's unlikely it will hold my interest based on what I've read about it.

Where's the "Stop asking where the xxx option is" option?!

pwnt!
Probably play EQ2 until Vanguard comes out then jump ship. Will level up a character in WoW though since battlegrounds are looking like something sweet to do inbetween raid/grind sessions.
