I know thats exactly what I was searching for but EQ has just changed so much for me since the early days. So I played WoW 60 Rogue on Kil'Jaeden and got to C'thun...(boring). I played EQ2 with some of you in fact 45 Berserker named Mithotyn and got bored. I hear that game has changed alot though and was almost interested in trying it again when I stumbled upon a gem.
I found an "EQEMU" which is basically the old version of EQ with no Luclin and all new Lore. Some other things are different too, for example there is a Stance system and specialization points, it really has just revitalized my desire to game. I was almost at a point where I was going to unplug my computer and put it in the closet heh.
Anyway I wanted to share my refuge with all of you Aro'ers. Its a free private server that usually has anywhere from 2-500 people online a little more at prime times. It is a lot of fun and I recommend everyone that can check it out ;> www.shardsofdalaya.com (http://www.shardsofdalaya.com/)

It is the same one, but there was some copyright issues with wintersroar I guess they were using the EQ name for some stuff I dont know, they shut that down and remade SoD...its funny tho on the SoD forums if you type the term "Everquest" they have a filter that displays it as "the Game"

Check your PM's ;D and yes its me
Im finding the population to be rather friendly and while its low there seems to be a good number of guilds doing the end game, with different lore the end game scale is different a raid is more often 3 groups rather than alot alot of people, but I dig the feel of everything and it satisfy's my need for a game...for free =>
I strongly encourage everyone to check it out if they can :>

Check out there FAQ OSG, just from reading that I get a sense that they feel high and mighty and they arent willing to put up with much.

That's the feeling they definatly portray. If you were not already uber then or did not have uber friends you had better like the solo game.

you can download all of EQ now and EQ2 and planetside and I'd venture to say SWG and MxO.

I was in the SOD Irc this morning at work chatting it up with the admins, and scored myself a position in a top end raiding guild. The demeanor of the FAQ and the rules might seem elitist, but they just want to play the game the way they like it, and since its free right on. But all in all they are nice and try to accomodate.

I'm looking forward to giving it a try sometime, but I've become a casual gamer over the last couple years. I doubt I'd have any hopes of getting into the "high end" game as such. Still, it would be cool to play... even if just for nostalgia's sake.

Ya, its actually pretty fast to level, just make sure you play a class that can solo if your just gonna be casual you know ill help you, but for when im not on =>, lots of zones have xp modifierrs. Like Guk is +30% xp for some reason, as far as I can tell its arbitrary tho, not sure what makes the modifiers happen.
