It's impossible to get people to start playing EQ, especially if their like me and require ever last expansion before they can sit down and play the game.

lets take a roll of the cost-
EQ trilogy - $18.00
SoL - $18.00
PoP - $20.00
LoY - $25.00
LDoN - $30.00
Grand total $111.00 !! Just to get all the software!

"Hey dude you should get into this game everquest, it's only $111.00 but it's so fun!"
"...."
"Oh did I mention they charge $12.00 a month."
"Yep sure sounds like fun."

Heck, I've blown $110 on a single night at a bar before. EQ is peanuts compared to what I spend going out.

I will agree with one thing... EQ is a money saver in the long run. I spent less while playing the game. If you enjoy the game, its a bargain to play.

Think how long you play other games you buy.... 50 bucks here and there for what 4 months top?

I am very happy that I dont play anymore, but I will never become one of those that calls those that still play lozers...

$110? tee-hee... I've spent $430 at the most in a night.
Of course, I was buying drinks for all the short skirt skanks trying to hook up on same ass.

Maybe the situation was different =p

Honestly, EQ saves money....that is of course unless you are a total loser and DON'T have things to do every night. Believe me, on a slow night, I spend at least 15 bucks doing stuff, and on a "good" night, its more like 120. When I tell my friends, "no thanks, I'm hanging out, saving money tonight." Its all of.......60 cents for the EQ monthly fee, and mayb 10 cents for the overhead, and I'm still having fun. EQ is a money saver, and if you need to, ask somebody.

I used too play Magic the Gathering before EQ.
Taht game was far more expensive. I would spend over 20$ a week eay just playing that. EQ has saved me alot of money in the long run.

At this point in time, if you're spending $110 then you need to take a look at your other spending habits. Plus with the invention of the Internet (thx Al Gore) there are many places, like ebay!, to get the game cheap. I bought the bundle (minus LDON) for $30. hmmmm.... Even a $110 have you enjoyed playing the game. I think the entertainment value makes up for the up front cost. lates

And with EQ, the worst you wake up with is a hangover, keyboard marks in your face, standing nekkid in PoK trying to scroll back through enough KEI requests to see where the hell you died at.

Beats waking up in a strange house, with an even stranger nekkid' person, snoring like a chainsaw and then trying to chew your own arm off in a feeble attempt to make a quiet escape.

You can also escape from your desk with minimal clothing. Whereas with the alternative, it could involve leering old ladies and law enforcement.

PS - None of the above situations have happened to me at any time. Any further questioning with regard to said fictional events will only result in blank stare and repeated, "I do not recall, Senator."

Yes, EQ has provided hours of entertainment at a huge discount, when put against other "entertainment ventures", as it were.

Though I don't approve of the practice, I'm informed grouping with a drunk cleric provides hours of entertainment.

I live on the international space station. I pay NASA to fly up playboy bunnies from the mansion. I have my way with them and fly them back down. Each night meals from different parts of the world are flown up to me. If I don't approve of them, I send them back down. Most of the time, you actually see many of my genetically cloned body doubles. (for security purposes) After taking a crap, I have people flown up to wipe my ass with various historical documents.

Oh yeah? Well, I get full use of the Popemobile on weekdays and cruise for chicks in it. I have a large team of medical researchers working day and night to make my farts smell like mint. In addition, I make world policies with Kramnik, and play chess with George W. Bush. For some odd reason, though neither of the last two feels particularly satisfying :(

Just saw a package being sold in Canada for $29.99 +tax.

Was like Everquest generations or something close. White Box.

Included all expansions except for ldon.
