This photo was posted on the website of Howard Kaloogian a republican candidate for congress.


His direct quote: "We took this photo of dowtown Baghdad while we were in Iraq. Iraq (including Baghdad) is much more calm and stable than what many people believe it to be. But, each day the news media finds any violence occurring in the country and screams and shouts about it - in part because many journalists are opposed to the U.S. effort to fight terrorism."

Now guess where the photo is really of.

The image is of the Istanbul suburb of Bakirkoy.

The candidate did which of the following to explain this:

1) Blamed the liberal media

2) Stood by the photo and swore it was Baghdad

3 ) Just ignored it

4) Blamed a low level employee
