[I demonstrated in Las Vegas this year that I don't have any special animosity toward anyone in this game.] We even flagged a few more people through Behemoth together -- mostly in the interest of not continuing to try to piss on each other; but it doesn't change the fact that I still believe, in my little heart of hearts, that RiP will play dirty pool whenever given the opportunity.Because you know how Vision guildchat stayed completely clean of talking shit about other guilds right?Allamar's right. Of *course* we talk a mean frustrated "fuck them" talk, but Vision, despite it's faults nearly always took the honorable path in conflicts. I know that Vision isn't VA, and I know neither guild has been perfect, but it's laughable to try to paint Vision (or VA for that matter) as dishonorable.

Anyway, at most, I guess I'm guilty of trying to give RiP chance after chance to prove themselves above this sort of crap.

Yeah, RiP was fairly suck for training us for Dozekar. I think it's kinda funny you decided to engage AE wurms in the middle of our CR. I also remember Leyda telling you guys to 'fuck off', or something to the like in /occ and being disbanded from the guild.

Anyone else remember the time RiP and Vision camped HoT for hours for Dozekar? I sat there with my sight binded on the RiP puller for hours before I gave up. After we all left and went to bed he spawned. =>

And about bard chat. Bard chat has been dead for a long time. I used to log into EQ sometimes strictly just to chat it up with my bardic fellows. I don't log in all that often anymore, but when I do it's safe to say that bard chat sucks. A ton of the 'oldschool' bards are gone, and you're left with a boring ass chat and the only talking in it are questions about loot/encounters/etc. I found a new channel that suits my fancy though, so it's all good.

It appears that basically the reason why the rifts were awarded to FD is due to the pulling of Blood by RiP while it was clear that there was a conference between guilds and a GM.

Did RiP engage first and start the script? Seems they did, with the obvious intention of falling back on the "we aggroed first" rule.
These actions, although "legal" as they are known to be, do not however put forth what an honorable group of persons would do in the given situation. It would seem that what was most likely done here was this, the GM admin that made the call has most likely had to deal with the "cockblocking" of this spawn before and was well aware that there was going to be a roll for the rights to the spawn. Basically by doing what they did, RiP with its actions in so many ways spelled out that they are not willing to negotiate nor take their chances on a roll for the spawn, which it is obvious that FD was willing to do while RiP was not. If Rip was willing, they would not have pulled blood, pretty simple.

The awarding of the 40 rifts to FD it appears was the GM's way of saying "Fuck You" to RiP and the dishonorable underhanded style of play that they have consistently demonstrated for years.

With the RiP - SoT deal that was worked out it is clear that RiP and its negotiator Malse are very capable of making a play on words, and are less concerned with reputation than they are with zone loot.
I believe it was the movie Scarface that had the best line which should be a lesson to both Malse and RiP.

There is a long history of guilds or groups being assholes to others in this game without repercussion. Killing emp to prevent access to vt, sitting in ntov while others clear it then grabbing vulak, waking the sleeper, kiting lodizal, killing trak to prevent access to vp and the bp's. Hell,I wouldn't be surprised if leapfrogging dates back to ghoul lord raids. And nothing was ever done about it. It is part of the game.

Going back on that, and giving a guild free loot just because they were screwed over, just doesn't make sense when you look at the past 4 years of the game.

Assholes are free to roam in everquest. One gm actually doing something about them, in this case by giving out rifts, was a mistake.(as the screenshot proved)

I remember asking why we kept rip out of vt and I was told because while other guilds like CB can be trusted to keep their words, rip has time after time broken their words, so a deal like you get vt one week and we get it next can't be expected to be upheld by rip. I have become friends (at least to some degree) with Dawson, Jori, Logix, and Kanibal (all the people from rip that I have met for longer than a quick 5 min encounter).. and I have to say they are good people as individuals, and I am sure most of the people in RIP are great peoples and not loot whores etc BUT just like President Kenedy has some of the smartest/most intelligent people but because of "Group Think" he made a HORRIBLE choice.. LDON should be interesting, better gear and lots of opportunities for grinding, yet the level cap and AA selection remain static... Could be a lot more bunching up on the top end, and of course that trickles down to those of us in the middle.

VA has not yet killed the Emperor. We are in the process of gathering enough keys to make an attempt. Likely we will be trying soon, that is if we can ever catch the Emperor up. Like you said, he is heavily contested and many of our key people are on PST. I would guess we are probably the next guild to be getting into the mix.

You guys are forgetting Aza, they are currently capable of killing emperor ( have at least once already ) and I would imagine both RiP and FD would be interested in keeping an asian guild out of VT, because if they don't they'll never get to kill shit.

Well, yeah. There is a REASON why VC hasnt farmed any shards after all. Still plenty of fun to be found in Kunark, Velious, and PoP for us. The Time and effort to farm shards makes it a major buzzkill. I was actually pretty intrigued that FD would put in the effort to do so, especially how contested Emp and VT are already.

We know that even when the moon and the stars align themselves and he's up when we have a keyed force online, that there's still going to be guilds waiting for him. It's almost beyond my ability for comprehension to think that RiP, FD, and whomever else is killing him this month is going to suddenly stop and leave him alone once they have their 40 or 60 rifts. *Someone* will always need another one, *Someone* will want the items he drops, *Someone* will want to cockblock - because that's the nature of the game.

In other news, we played nice with RiP this week in Ssra, and all went well. While we've got a few things in our history that might prevent us from being prom dates, recent encounters have gone much better.

We worked several mini-raids to get everyone keyed that wanted to kill EmpSsra, If you attened every group/miniraid it prob adds up to 50+ hours and thats not including bane farming. And it wasnts just lotj we did the keys for, we did it for all of LS that didnt have key and for 2 alts (i think it was 2). I highly doubt that with all the 20 people LS had they would have taken empssra alone without us.

With a very good risk/reward ratio (you can even ask Ghazg to solo him for you if you want), will you let any emp alive if you could hit him?

Is completely different from killing emp for the sole purpose of cockblocking your competition. Kinda like laying down in the only open parking space at the mall. too bad ya cant just run the assholes over in EQ.

I think you aren't quite understanding. People that would want to kill emp to prevent others from getting rifts more than likely still regard emperor loot as worthwhile. So not only do you get good stuff, but you get the added benefit of more good stuff from VT cause the people you blocked can't zone in until they get at least 2 kills =)

If you desire the loot then by all means take out the mob. But if you are just trying to cockblock and jump in front of a guild (while undermanned)who is prepared and waiting for the mob to spawn and abuse the script while ignoring the GMs who are there to moderate because your guild has a reputation of taking advantage of others guilds when they bend over to pick up the soap.... I guess you deserve any negativity which comes your way.

Not sure if you can find many original players from beta test onward from Solusek Ro on Ayonae Ro, but if you can, Go ahead and ask them about RiP from their escapades on Solusek Ro. Even before the expansions came out and Lower Guk,Sol B and Ct were the zones people dreamed to be in, for the Envied Rubicite the much sought after Manastones and of course Naggy. RiP pulled the same shit back then , they do now, but under the leadership of Sorn. It was nothing to go to CT and find the whole guild had camped Sewer, Temple,etc etc or to go to Lower guk and find the same. If guild asked nicely for them to share they were ignored or laughed at. I can even remember a few Occasions after SoL B was broken on Solusek RO that if you so much as stepped into the entrance of SOl B while they were in there you would be trained. So don't act like you don't understand what is going on when you try to play all innocent and claim you play fair, and that the GM screwed you blah blah whaa f ing whaa. I will agree that you give off bad Karma, you will receive it ten fold.

Actually leap-frogging and KSing is rampant at all lvls of the game. We've all had camps stolen from us in the lowby end of the game. It doesn't mean you go and steal someone else's. "Phat lewts" don't justify bad behaviour. And, no, not all guilds are out to KS you.

I have all the lvl 10 weapons and nearly all lvl 20 items, save Huang's bow. 8(

Though I have yet to find a lvl 4 orb. I don't think they exist.

I have a lv 4 Vorpral orb and yet somehow, not a single lightning orb, it sucks... sorta.
