I'm medically retired from DOD Civil service due to my work related injury ( took a nasty fall and jacked up my back ).
My question is two fold.
1) Will this disallow me from taking a job offer from a company associated with Microsoft in Washington?
2) If I'm allowed to take the job will I lose all monies and such? The job fit within the medical restrictions set by the doctors who determined I was physicially unfit to perform my duties.
I realize noone is culpable here for answering these questions. In my mind I should still recieve some sort of cash stipend monthly regardless as the injury was work related.
Any info would be appreciated.

I do not know how strict they are but I was given no such job restrictions when retired from the military. When you are disabled 50%+ though there comes some restrictions. I will do some research as I know some people in similar situations

I believe depending on the type of disability you are limited to a certain amount of money you can earn. I'd honestly check with someone who knows this type of stuff for sure like a disability claims attorney. I'm pretty sure you could lose your status if you make more than you're allowed. I'm speaking completely off the cuff and only repeating things I've heard other say, I do not know any of this for sure.

I think Fild is correct. You are "income limited" however if you think about it, if you can make good money why worry about losing disability.

Well if my back problem becomes worse, likely says the doc, I want to be covered medically more than anything else.

If it is anything like regular disability, you are income limited.

What is the source of your disability money? That is where you need to look, because this is not something to answer in general terms.
I am medically retired (with an Honorable Discharge) from the military at 40% disability, paid by the Army and the Veteran's Administration. I have no restrictions regarding employment.
If you are receiving money via Social Security for a disability, that is a whole different can of worms.

I have to apply for both federal medical disability and soc security.
I already know I'll lose the soc security, which is fine with me.

Going above 50% or so with the Military/VA restrictions come into play. I was worried about this when I was retired. Considering being 28yo at the time and trying to raise a family solely off the VA/Military would have sucked.

That's how I read it.
