If you check, I split the one division into 2.

We're closing in on playoffs and, if it was only 1 division, there would only be 1 game (top 2 records). By doing it with 2 divisions, there should be a division championship game, then a final game. That way we get an extra week of play :)

I went down the list going div1, div2, div1, div2, etc... but that ended up with both the 6-1 teams in the same division, so I split them up.

I really don't like making changes after we started and if folks are oposed to this, I can change it back. I was just looking for a way to get us another couple of games in. :)

Most of the leagues I have been in take the top 6 or 8 teams and just work with them. We have an odd number of teams also.

Yeah, I think Yahoo does it like this...

Round 1 Round 2 Round 3

1 vs 8 winners play

2 vs 7Championship

3 vs 6winners play

4 vs 5

losers of round 2 play for third place.

This makes the most sense to me, but I'll accept whatever system is picked. (Notice a slight change from Fadorn's post)

1 vs 8
winners play
4 vs 5
Championship

3 vs 6
winners play

2 vs 7

losers of round 2 play for third place.

Gotcha. I was thinking if we only had one division, they would only take the top 2 teams. Gonna check some more settings and make sure it wouldn't screw us out of an extra week or two.

I'm not doing too well, but having a blast each week pulling my hair out trying to guess who to start vs their matchups :)

8 out of 11 people in the playoffs makes most of the season seem really pointless to me. Thats almost 75%? That would mean only 1 person in division 1 would NOT make the playoffs, heh. The 4 person setup sounds alot better.

One thing I noticed though, was this:

Playoffs Weeks 4
Playoff Rounds 2 (2 weeks per round)
Playoff Teams 4

Thats different. I guess it's the combined score for the 2 weeks? Now that I think about it, I like that, since it makes it less flukey.

If there's a way to have 4-8 play each other too, a loser's bracket, that'd be good though. That combo seems the most fair to the best teams, while letting other people still have some post-season fun.

It seems the top 4 teams playoff(the maximum it will allow for an 11 team league).

There is a loser bracket for those that don't make the playoffs though so we get to keep playing :)
