Flu death rates for 18-24 year olds (which I'm gessing you fall into) is about .5 per 100,000. You're still 30 times more likely to be murdered.

I was thinkin' about this, and a big question hit me.

How does one die from the flu?

Does it run your temperature up to lethal levels and cause a nervous system shut-down? Fill lungs with fluid and drown you? Cause unstoppable rectal bleeding? (I figure the last one is unlikely - even with my smidgen of medical knowledge.)

Maybe there's a doctor in the house with good knowledge of these kinda things (*cough*Nydia*cough*) that can give the technical details of how one ceases to be, from the flu. It would be interesting to know.

They are ill-prepared, wait 'till the last minute to do anything about it, and well basically just all around pussys.

I think people with AIDS and other immune system lowering viruses are more prone to dying from things like the flu and cold. I could be wrong. If your body's immune system is already suffering, it is very difficult to fight back against things like the common cold and such.

The CDC keeps seperate stats for people who die of HIV-related illnesses (pneumonia, etc), and those aren't part of the .5 / 100,000.

You die because your body temp goes too high mostly and you fall into coma. Is what happened to the only person I know that died from flu because generally its not the flu alone that kill you its the flu that finish you so to speak :p . Its very rare tho. Mostly old people because they don't like doctors and bodies are weakers.

Best way to beat a cold or the flu is to stay in shape and take a zinc supplement when you feel it coming on.

i took a zinc tablet, its seriously the nastiest shit ever...not sure if that helps, all this remedy bullshit...

i think the whole zinc thing was created as a prank by one guy, to watch his friend nearly die from trying to chew that piece of shit tablet

LOL,this reminded me of an old news "commercial" i saw about a year ago.I even called them and told them they were idiots.


The commercial went:

I SWEAR this is word for word what was on the "commercial".

I have the Flu, sucks, never been this kinda sick before, im sneezing blood, temp is 103 something and im so insanly pale, not because i stay inside i get out alot, but i look like a ghost, today was first day in 3 days i could get off the couch at my parents house, i thought i was gonna die, i was in inhumane pain, and the walls were changing colors, we arnt pussys this years flu is worst yet to hit america

i feel your pain shew, i had a 104 temp and couldnt move for 2 days
