then how come hasbro hasnt dissappeared? their stock was down below 5.00 USD for a while.

Also, the "below $5" appears to be only the split-adjusted price.

An information/services company might be likely to fold under $1/share. I don't know stats on that for sure, so I can't comment.

A company with a relatively high book value due to significant physical capital, like an oil company, is a lot less likely to. Typically, when the market cap value of a company like that's stock falls below its book value, that's time to invest.
