I'm open to suggestions on different colors to look for.

If I can get us upgraded to vBulletin 3.6, I definitely would like to move us away from the default theme (leaving it as an option though, for those that prefer it). It's so bland and common.

Man, that green black and white is *hard* on the over-40 eyes. Could I suggest something more muted/neutral, if you're wanting to go with darker colors, please?

I like the layout of this board as is, the blue and they grey are not whats hard on my eyes(hehe 7 months till mine hit 40) but is there a way to tone down all the white that surrounds it?
Late nights and early morning can be bothersome but it's the vast amount white that makes it so.

You can try the skin Ryb was working on. If you look down in the lower left of the very bottom of the page there's a dropdown box. Try "test".

Light text on a dark background is hard for the bifocal set to read, especially at the font size those headers were at (like, impossible). While the current format is a bit tough from the glare perspective it's not so contrasty as to be unreadable, which the green/black/white is.

What's wrong with dark text on a more neutral (say, light tan or red) background? The bright white on brown isn't *as* bad as the white on black/green but it's still rough to read.

Darker would be good, to aid this aged troll; the red and black and green and black are actually harder on the eyes, tho'. If the current scheme could be darkened somehow, that would be fine.

I imported the RiP style here for those that like it, under "Test Colors" in the style list.

It's kinda busted till I get FTP access to copy the images over though.

/nod and since so many tech forums that I visit have the same skin my boss thinks I'm on them instead of game forums :D

Sadly they are working to block everything so my access will probably be nixed soon :(
