This seems to be in the flavor of Dark Age of Camelot.

You know, I've never been into free to play MMO's, as I always felt pressured to buy shit at the cash shops. I don't know what convinced me to download and play this one, but you know what? For a cost of 0$, it's pretty damn good. It doesn't replace EvE for me, but when I've got Fat Kids looking for candy (that's what we call Neutrals and Reds looking for easy kills when we're trying to make money in EvE. ) it gives me an alternative to get my fix.

For the amount of time and effort it takes to download it, it's worth a look at. It certainly won't cost you anything. Also, if you check out MMORPG.com, they have a code that you can redeem to get a wolf mount for free.

I forget the name of my side (there are three factions, and once you pick one faction, you can't create another character in the other two without have a seperate account or deleting your previous characters. It's to keep the PVP in check). But I'm one of minotaur looking guys with the dwarves and what not. Name is Mokos. I'm not on all the time, but you'll catch me every now and then.

ROFL Kel! didn't they have a version of that on the Atari 2600? I love how it bills itself as "Dial Up friendly".

Did I have an Atari? Yes.
The Realm was many years after that though, 1996 release :) Just a few months after Meridian 59 I think.

Sierra had that out didn't they? By the time I actually got around to installing it, it had already shut down.

Shut down? Its still going ...
Yeah, it was Sierra originally and when they closed up it was sold to Codemasters and eventually bought by one of the fans.
