Just to clarify.

Rdol has told GM's that he has paid me in full for these items. I havent recieved a single copper piece for them as of Tuesday 25 march at 9:38 am.

If anyone out there has known me or my characters over the last 4 years (mungo dwarfeater, gebe gryffindor, naeve nightshade) please feel free to hound Rdol till he either quits EQ entirely or simply gives me the items back, which he claims dissapeared on a LD, or the plat we agreed.

Just to make it clear why he SO is guilty.
He got those items from a friend of his (our guildmemeber). They were friends, really.
Then he went LD, after 3 hours our guildie petitioned. The next day he comes back and says he doesn't have the items and that our guildie must have them in a bag.
He also told the GMs that he payed the items, 100kpp cash.
The GMs seem to not want to check the logs. So its word vs. word.

The fun thing is that he tells our guildie that he does not have those items and at the same time he sells them on this forum. No more comment needed.

What follows is lost as I deleted the wrong file by accident but basically he claimed again that he didn’t have the items. He confirmed that he had accepted trade, that he had the items before he went LD and that they disappeared after that.

Thanks for your time and reply. The issue really is that he has not returned any items, nor given me plat on any server. As contained in one of the /reports made he claimed repeatedly that he did not have the items any longer. Just to clarify, the items were on a-ro not the ubi soft server. He just said he would give me the plat on Venril Sathir which I wanted to give to a RL friend who has been sick (thought it might cheer him up some).

At the moment I would be delighted to have the items back or the agreed plat. As of Monday morning (gmt) this has not happened, regardless of what Rdol has stated. In fact I haven't seen him online since my last "contact your gm" e-mail sent on Sunday 23rd.

Unfortunately the situation comes down to this. I can not do anything involving the Ubi Soft servers. Our tools can not access their logs or characters. I have no way to verify what did or did not take place on one of their servers. I realize this must be frustrating to you. But because I have no proof one way or the other what happened there is nothing I can do my hands are tied. When you entered into this agreement you knew the risk you were taking. And if it would have been a trade for items on Ayonae Ro alone or any other SOE server there may have been more that I would be able to do for you. I'm not sure what day it was but it was before all this stuff was posted...within a day, maybe hours of this post.. Reximus, Rdol, and Wiggle were in the hole and subsequently died. What they were doing there I wasn't sure.. Reximus' corpse was in the undead tower, the other two in a hallway leading down by Jaeil the Wretched... I was down there exploring with my level 1 rogue, learning the zone for an up coming epic hit... When I come upon the corpses. I send them a tell saying i'll drag them. First drug reximus up to the ledge, then went back for Rdol and Wiggle. Reximus' illusion popped back up so he came back and got wiggles corpse while I drug rdols... They all got drug back up to the zone in and rezzed, and on their merry way.

What pisses me off is I did this out of niceness, not for money or anything, and then I see Rdol pulls bullshit like this not a day after I save his sorry ass? Oh man, you are a piece of shit man, a true piece of shit. This is the only time I regret ever being nice to anyone, ever. Rdol, I hope you get a fucking clue and give the shit you stole back.

Naeve, in no way am I trying to kick you when you are down, I just have a wacky sense of humor, and the irony just struck me as funny.

The problem with scammers is that they prey on that part in us that believes that others would treat you the way that you would treat them.

Everyone says that you should never trust anyone, you always get your items first before you do the trade, but a lot of trades would never happen if everyone follwed that rule.

I would be willing to bet that almost everyone has trusted someone they dont know in game in this way, whether they needed a transfer to an alt or a cross server trade or even giving access to your account to a guildie for a flag or a specific drop/camp. Most times everything goes well and there is no problem, but because of that, unscrupulous people can take advantage of trusting people.

Like I said originally I am really sorry this happened to you and I hope you can recover the fun in EQ again.

A good idea for this sort of trade is to make it incremental.

Zoning slow is no reason.

Log in on other server, make sure the person has the kpp in the bank.

Then, trade
1 item for 2 kpp.
1 item for 2 kpp.
1 item for 2 kpp.
2 more items for 4 kpp
2 more items for 4 kpp
4 more items for 8 kpp
4 more items for 8 kpp
etc

Do something similar with pp trades.

Notice they can scam you out of 1 item, or out of about 1/3rd your items, at most.

If they zone slow, they zone slow. Deal.

Oh, and make this person suffer. Track down their name changes. If they move servers, find them, and toss links to this thread on that new server. Make Rdol not worth playing. If they claim to ebay, tough luck for them -- they should have googled the name before buying, assume they are faking it in order to "clean their reputation". Also, /report their defence of ebaying.

Reputation is everything.

Your only hope is to return the junk man, then servermove and name change.

Was Rdol E-Bayed becasue i knew him from CT server, he was a honost, good shaman, OLD friend, The real Rdol (if it's not him) would roll over in his grave (so to speak). I knew the real Rdol real well he was always helping others, always very nice, would never do this.

Yes, this is the basic of professional scamming:

- ebay a not so liked high level class (cheap)
- scam people with this char (people will think high level people need honor)
- transfer money to your real char
- cancel ebayed account.

I still say its far better to be scammed in EQ than in real-life. being scammed in EQ is bad, sad, destructive, heart-breaking etc. But it helps building up our defense in real-life, we will probably be less easy to cheat.

And yes, the "I zone slow, just trust me" is a proof of scamming.

Yes, he Ebayed. My RL friend was friends with him when he came to Ayonae from CT, and then he changed persons, as my RL friend at one point had access to the account cause they were friends, then the guy sold. I'm sure it has happened numerous times by now.

I will offer my services as a 250 dwarf smith at no charge to help reequip Naeve from this... be it dwarven cultural, pop smithing, cazic thule smithing, whatever.

Bring me the components, and i will do the combines to help reequip the person who was scammed. I guess the best way to do this would be to have taino or mediquick bring me any components for combines, as i know them both. I would only be doing the free combines if one of them brought me the components (or got the go ahead from one of them if someoen else brought me the components) as i don't want to screw over the other smiths on this server with an open invite to free combines.

Just for an update, Rdol has been removed from the guild he was in (Twilight Blades). This incident was just brought to our attention, and we took the action that we thought required.

We just hope that his childish activities has not tarnished the name of our fine guild.

Perhaps future scam notifications can be stickied for a brief time until an issue is resolved or such? Just an idea.

P.S. I don't mean for this post to reflect badly upon Twilight Blades, any of their officers, or members. They seem like mighty fine fellers (and gals) to me. :)

In defense, I have to say this, There were 4 officers on at the time when one of our members informed me of this. To these 4 officers (including myself) this scam by Rdol was news. I talked with all of them about it before we removed Rdol.

What ever officer you spoke with didn't mention anything to the rest of us.

Most likely, what happened was that the officer forgot to mention it to the rest of us (there may have been no other officers on at the time, keep in mind that an officer in most cases will talk with the other officers before making a removal). We are all human, we forget things from time to time.

We have had members in the past run scams inside and outside of the guild, we never go soft on these types when we find out about them.

As officers we have all agreed to start viewing the Ayonae Ro forums on a normal basis, so that we may know of situations like this earlier.
