i got level 8 then my brain started to hurt.

It's not immediately obvious, but you can pin or hinge the ball/square to other objects. That helps a lot.

All I know is I just build a trebuchet to win level 20, and it felt pretty good.

This appears similar to crayon physics.

Yeah, you get a box for some of the levels.

It's probably easiest to make contraptions that pin/hinge to it, but you can also still move it with enough force. I find dropping big wedges to work well.

so far i have basically just counter balanced the box to the flag.....16 is stumping me.

just figured out a trick, the ball it self is heavy, but if you pin a box to it, it no longer is.

haha sorry im bored as hell...and teh Trebuche is killing me to make. 18 i used the fulcrum as a catapult but the ball on the end and dropped a big ball on the other end :P
