A Tower Defense (http://www.candystand.com/uk/play.do?id=18048) quite easy if you don't care the score, but quite interesting if you do. ;) (and the design is quite cool!)
A Point & Click (http://www.nekogames.jp/mt/2007/05/post_16.html) from our crazy japaneses, a multiple brainmelter!! :D
A Gravity Game (http://www.wickedpissahgames.com/games/gravitypods/GravityPods.html) that will get you hooked for several time!
Maybe as we have a webcomics post-it, couldn't we have as well a webgames one? :)

Ahh, the wonders of compound interest.
Switchback map: Level 50/50; score 11,689,542; $3,748,485 left over.

Damn and i thought i did well, all 50 done 4,642,000 score and 105K left in the bank.
Granted i dropped it at 21% interest and started getting the dmage bonus upgrades.
I way over towered at the end but i had the cash and was in no way letting the last yellow round thru!

I've been trying the frog layout instead. It's tough! I haven't been able to get past level 30.

Been working on the Vector TD game for a week now during my free time trying to break 17,000,000. Finally did, got 17,315,823 today.

Frog ones pissing me off!!!! it's the yellows for sure cant seem to get those controled, stage 2 blues are about worthless imho.

Yup, I use the cheapest blue towers--type 1, level 1. A few of those scattered about help quite a bit.
A combination of type 1 level 1 blues, type 3 high level purples, and type 3 high level reds seems to be the way to go. Purples are good at thinning the pack since they can lock onto one enemy and slow it down while dealing heavy damage, while reds seem to be good at finishing off weak enemies due to the large range.
Of course due to compound interest it is also important to stretch your money early on.

I can't even seem to get enough money to hold up through the first yellow wave. I lost 4 lives this past time and only had $200 in the bank when the wave ended :( What towers do you build off the bat?

I tried the 4 color method today(1 each) upgrading each as much as i can. by the 4th yellow wave the slow mobs are np but the speed of the yellows is just to much. this is with 2 equal groups of towers and 2 type 1 towers(blue) at lvl 5 or so.
maybe it's my positioning. i'm building equal but split forces along the frogs upper arms. only place i see too get 2 rounds of fire at them.

Here's how I've been starting on the frog layout:
Level 1: Build Red1 (close, lock off)
Level 3: Build Green1 (weak)
Level 4: Upgrade Green1 to lv3
Level 5: Upgrade Red1 to lv3
Level 6: Build Blue1, upgrade Red1 to lv4
That's enough to last me through the first 9 levels.

Ok tried going with the single red to start with and got smoked due to the split nature of waves. what are doing that i'm missing here?

The playing field is 22 tiles wide and 18 tiles high. If we number the tiles like this:
(1,1)---(22,1)
| |
(1,18)-(22,18)
Try putting the red tower at (10,5). Don't forget to set targetting on that tower to close, with target locking off.
That one tower should get you through the first two waves.

For the frog map, my best so far is 42. When I started this map, I also used the single red tower at first thinking it was the optimal way to save money, but I think I've found a better start. Compare:
Palarran's start:
Level 1: Build Red1 (close, lock off) 200 gold
Level 3: Build Green1 (weak) 100 gold
Level 4: Upgrade Green1 to lv3 100 gold
Level 5: Upgrade Red1 to lv3 200 gold
Level 6: Build Blue1, upgrade Red1 to lv4 400 gold
Total: 1000 gold
My start:
Level 1: 2 Green 200 gold
Level 2: Upgrade both to 2, then upgrade to three asap as gold becomes available 200 gold
Level 3: Ride
Level 4: Ride
Level 5: Upgrade both to 4 100 gold
Level 6: Upgrade both to 7, quickly 300 gold
Total 800 gold
I spend a little more at level 2, but the 3% interest doesn't make up for 200 gold. But you are doing something a little different than I was at level 5 when I was using the red tower, so you may still have something there.
After level 6, I ride until the next grey wave ( 10 I think? ) and build 1 blue next to the each of the green, then ride until the next yellow and build a level 2 purple in each of the top middle parts. That lasts for awhile and from there its mostly putting down level 1 blues for awhile.
The only things worth using, imo, are the level 1 greens ( have to start with them, not after that ), the level 1 blues ( lots of them, they slow 4 creeps at a time and let you shoot extra ), the level 2 purples ( level 3 are too expensive and almost every other wave are blue, which purples do half damage against, but you need purple for the green waves ), and the level 3 reds ( this is your damage, except for green waves ).

Don't forget to sell off those level 1 greens and level 1 reds as soon as you start getting the level 3 purples / reds since they're worthless and its more money to collect interest on.

Interesting, I never would have guessed that you could get that far on greens alone.
Another way to look at it, though, is that I spend $700 in towers that will later be sold, while you spend $800 in towers that will later be sold. In the end the two starts are probably about equally effective.
I wonder if you could take your start and replace the level 6 part with buying a blue tower? The blue towers put out a respectable amount of damage at low levels in addition to slowing. Then you'd have the best of both worlds.
