Heard this morning that Ackroyd, Murray and Ramis have all signed on to do a new one, and I think it was Warner Brothers that was the studio giving it a green light. So, the speculation is now reality.
(I still think that chick was hotter than hell at the top of the hotel in the first one; the god, or whatever.)

This has been in the works for donkey's years. Ackroyd has been writing scripts for a while, and the rest of the cast had all signed on, but for a couple years Murray would have nothing to do with it. Only on Ackroyd's final script did he say yes. It's gonna be a 'next generation' movie, ie the original cast will be in it, but young Ghostbusters will have the stage.
Might work.

6 months ago and today they were 2 different movies though. Sounds like Murray was holding out for a bigger portion of the spotlight for him and the originals and less care towards their new recruits - which is ideal in my eyes.
