I finally broke down and bought a 360 this weekend. I had planned on doing it Saturday but I waited until Sunday...for good reason. I have a friend who is a manager at a local EB store here in town. She told me to wait until Sunday especially if I was doing any trade ins as the value would be near double if I was going to buy a 360. I took in my PS2, xBox, all my games, and accessories and had a $230 credit towards a 360 :D

In the end I walked out with a 360 system with the hard drive and headset, an extra controller, battery packs for the controllers and a dual charger, plus 5 games for $460ish. Not a bad deal considering the day before it would have been $580. In fact the pre-discount price was over $700 for all that, she did a few things for me aside from the trade in value. Ahhh friends :)

I got Oblivion and my ass didn't move for hours yesterday while I played WOW that game is beautiful.

I was going to wait and buy a PS3 instead a 360 until she informed me that the PS3 is going to be even harder to get when it's released. In her district all EB stores combined will be getting an average of less than 10 systems per store. The PS3 is going to be very hard to get, much more so than the 360. So considering it's going to be over a year till I could possibly get one I went with a 360 and thusfar I'm happy :)

Those of you who have owned them for longer, do you have some game suggestions? Must plays? etc.

Yeah, I haven't seen too much to like about the PS3 so far. Could this be the end? Who knows? I guess when they start releasing what games there are and how they play and what features you get with a PS3, maybe then we'll have a better idea.

Nintendo seems to be looking to come back into the market. Very interested to see how the Wii (I feel silly everytime I say that), works out.

I waited in the cold raid in the middle of DC from 12 am to 10 am to get mine! I also slept outside a Best Buy for my Ps2, so if you have a night and a pretty hardcore you can always manage to get a system at launch. (Not to mention you could make like 800 bucks off ebay if you just sell it.)

That said, ps3 is 600 bucks. Wii is 200. Sony is also nazi and has decided that you are paying for permission to play their games and you don't actually own them. Pretty soon you're not going to be able to buy/sell used Sony games, which is super lame if you ask me. 400 for 360, 200 for Wii, or 600 for ps3.... HMMMMM... For anyone who isn't Richie Rich, the ability to get 2 systems for the price of the other 1 should be incentive enough.

Im still of the opinion that the 360 is a little weak selection wise. I still play Call of Duty 2 online a lot. If you like cars or racing, Need for Speed: Most Wanted is badass. Dead or Alive 4 is a great fighter. Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter is a good one too, although I don't like the AI much. The new Hitman seems cool from the demo. Oh, and if you haven't figured it out yet you can download a demo for almost any game that's out there on Xbox live, and they are free!

Oooooh no I didn't know you could demo them for free.

We picked up Full Auto, Oblivion, CoD2, Tiger Woods 06, and some other game I can't even remember the name of. I totally missed Dead of Alive 4, that's my next one then :)
