In the spirit of ebbing the almost never ending flow of bad news, the hostages in Columbia are free!!

Betancourt was abducted in February 2002 while she was campaigning for president. The Americans were captured a year later when their drug surveillance plane went down in rebel-held jungle. Some of the others had been held for a dozen years.

This is great news for the hostages and a great PR win for the McCain campaign in that he just happened to be in Columbia at the right time along with his campaign advisor that just happens to be a lobbyist for the Columbian government. Might be a bit on the tin foil side, but then again it seems alot of those who brought us the "aftermath of 9/11" are on the McCain campaign.

How on earth can that be considered a PR win for McCain; or anything for McCain, for that matter? This was a well-planned and executed mission by the Colombians, and just because someone was in town at the time means nothing. If anyone were to try to spin that to favor McCain in some fashion they would get blown out of the water, or laughed out of town, or both, by the varied network pundits.
