1. Celtics, easy #1 pick for Eastern Conference
2. red Sox, best record in baseball, 3-0 sweep of anaheim
3. Eagles (boston college), #4 ranked
4. Patriots, scored 30+ points all 5 games if i am not mistaken, easy pick for superbowl
5. Bruins, well we cant have it all.

So how are the Celtics the easy num 1 pick for Eastern Conference?

Kevin Garnett + Paul Peirce + Ray Allen= amazing

So you expect all the old men to be playing meaningful minutes ( 30+ ) day in day out? Who else is their to give them breathers?

Edit: It is a pretty nice trio, all getting old wanting to win championship, I believe they will put 150pct towards winning. But they still need to work together and play together.

Kevin Garnett is still very young. Remember he came into the league straight out of high school. Paul Pierce is solid, but aging. Ray Allen, still very good.

They still have to wear that horribly ugly outfit though. Gag...

Garnett-- 31 with 927 games under his belt.
Allen-- 32 with 790 games under his belt.
Pierce-- 29 with 652 games under his belt.

I guess they were not as old as i thought at first, once I looked at it. Although knowing Garnett finally has players around him, he could quite possibly have his best year ever.... average 20+ points 15+ rebounds easily.

Garnett has had good players around him before. If Marbury had not been such a greedy little attention whore wanting to be THE STAR, and stayed as part of a team of stars in MN, the Wolves might well have gone to the big game.

I think Boston has a great lineup, but it will still come down to outplaying some other good teams. I do want to see KG get a championship tho', and that chance left MN a few years back.

The Eastern Conference is weak. The celtics will run full court ball with a small squad and just run-n-gun the whole time.

When they go against the Heat, they will hack-a-shaq and, postup dishouts for 3 pointers all day.

There's one big reason that Boston won't win the Eastern Conferance, and I can't believe no one thusfar in this thread has stated why...

Doc Rivers.

He's one of the worst coaches in the NBA, and I have no doubt in my mind that he will find a way to screw this situation up.

Did not even realize Doc was the coach. I would still put money on the heat, cavs, and even the magic to be better then the celtics. You need to at least have someone on the bench to take minutes or score or play some D. Hell even a PG to distribute the ball would quite likely make me believe they are an easy number one.

So brady is still a douchebag of epic proportions, but what he said about the guy that guaranteed a steelers win, and how they threw multiple td's over his head was pretty damn funny.

Edit: Oh, and the jets are team that blew the whistle on the patriot's cheating, so expect the patriots to try for 80 points and go for it on 4th down every time.

Happy Birthday Rob!!

How's it feel to be a Pats fan this morning? :P

Greystone Thorngage

no exaggeration, i got 47 text messages in the 5 minutes after the last TD. I got 107 emails this morning, and 30+ PM's on various forums.

The thing that pisses me off..of the roughly 200 people that gave me shit, 3 were giants fans.

That's because the only people that wanted to see the Pat's win were people from Boston.

Tom Brady is a cry baby, their first game should have been forfeit, and it was a fumble against Oakland.

:p

That's what happens when you gloat about an entire city(that you don't live in) and act like you are a part of a team for 4 months heh.

Heh I was rooting for the Giants last night even with my vbookie bet the other way. That's when you really know you want a team to lose.

I dont live in, but i was born their. :)

you have to realize no one is from florida....a LARGE portion of people are from somewhere else, hence the reason many florida teams dont have the support other towns get. Look at the magic...they ahve the smallest arena in the league because people really only go to watch their original home town team.

You simply have to realize that to everyone that's not a Patriots fan themselves, the Patriots are probably one of their least favorite teams. Just look at the lack of class repeatedly shown by Belichick, be it in a loss or a win to see why people tend to not like the Patriots.

Add to that repeated success, and you have a recipe for vitriol that you had to expect as your team lost.

Greystone Thorngage

Yankee syndrome as i call it :)

Taleren Bloodsong
02-04-2008, 10:16 PM
If only the Yankees completely lacked in class (I don't like the Yankees, but they have much more class than the Pats).

Hell, I like the Red Sox. And I'll admit, I hate the Yankees just because they are the Yankees.

The Patriots just have no class.

The coach leaving the field before the final second ticks off. Brady and Moss sulking their way out of the Pro Bowl. Have you ever seen a picture of Brady with his son (or even mention his son for that matter)? The coach cheating on his wife. The cheating scandal (which now looks far larger than originally thought). Harrison and Wilfork's dirty play. Belichick refusing to shake Mangini's hand.

The list goes on and on. I understand a Patriot fan being a Patriot fan, but for them to not even understand why people can't stand their team is just stupid.

I am not jealous of your team at all. I've lived through more Super Bowl victories with my team than the Patriots have. My two favorite teams (I am from outside of Pittsburgh, and I lived in Indiana for 18 years) have won Super Bowls more recently than the Patriots.

I'm a NY Giants fan, NY Yankees fan and a Miami Heat fan.....I live in Florida. I hate the Knicks.

Giants Kicked some ass, that was the best Super Bowl I ever seen.

Side note, I thought Pierce was older then that. :(

Heh, Jessica Simpson always reminded me of a Barbie doll...plastic, and only able to do what was directed by someone else.

Tom Brady showed better acting chops on his SNL stint; he just isn't as cute in a bikini.
