I dont think there is one person who doesnt agree with this statement, books are always better because its more detailed and you get a chance to understand the characters and there worlds.

I personally wouldnt care if say a movie about Harry Potter was a 4 hour movie just to stay 100 percent true to the book. I would sit my ass down for the 4 hours and enjoy it immensly (sp). I mean come on you took out PEEVES??!?! WTF

I just ordered my iMAX tickets for Spider Man 3; the next movie they will show is the Harry Potter one and in 3D... tickets aren't on sale yet but when they are we'll be going. The books just go off on tangents with those songs and nonsense. Now Tom Bombadil being left out sucked of course - but I like the visuals of the battles far more than the ones I created in my head :)
