Putting all the bull asisde, it is great to be here for another of the country's birthdays. Have a safe and happy 4th, everyone. And I hope those in far off places have a chance to celebrate some too.

It looks like we'll be celebrating inside (at least for now), as the torrential rain continues, but given recent events this year seems a particularly apropos, amidst the parades and fireworks, time for reflecting on the freedoms, and enlightened (despite its flaws) government that our Founding Fathers, and generations that followed them, were willing to lay their lives on the line for - and that we take them for granted (or on faith might be a better word :) ) at our peril.

Assuming the weather clears up a bit, we're smoking a turkey breast. Happy 4th, all!

Was icky weather here, rain bleh.

We still had our family get together and got to set off a few fireworks before the rain came again. I hope you all had a great holiday! Happy Birthday America!

Was real nice in Raleigh, far more pleasant than expected. A pleasant day, but I'm paying for my indulgences. ;)
