Reminds me of Lost.

As Mr. Universe from Serenity the movie put it: "Can't stop the signal Mal." The MPAA has been scrambling to cut it out of all sites they can find, but it spread way too fast. Its printed and sitting on my wall right now. Basically, all HD-DVDs produced before yesterday or so can now be ripped to your computer and played on any platform. Fun stuff.

Yeah, I think just the fact that they thought they could stop it is a sad commentary on how out of touch they are.

Does this number have any use? :) And how does one use it?

You write it with a crayon on any dvd you have that you want to look high definition.

Will the erasable crayons my daughter have work?

Yes, but if someone erases it - you can't use the dvd anymore.

And what font should I use? :)

No I mean really - I guess its a key for a decrypting algorithm, but is the algorithm itself known?

from what i understand, please correct me if i am wrong. HD DVD wanted to combat piracy. It didnt want bootleg HD DVD products out there. So it came up with a pretty serious anti-piracy key for its dvd's.

It also released something saying "hey piracy is illegal we put this on all HD DVD's, so dont try copying". Which the "hacking" community took as a fuck you we beat you and they retailiated. They found a skeleton key of sorts that basically means if HD DVD wants to keep things safe, they have to rewrite/produce a entirely new security system which isnt fesable because they have already shipped product.

So now with certain "patches" you can have pirated HD DVD movies work.
